A little late to be posting this but I had no computer while on holiday.

Date 14th September:
Event Organised by my gym....
Very local, but great fun and great prizes.

Course: mixed surfaces, wood chips, gravel, tarmac, grass and an athletics track. 2x 5km loops

Weather v sunny and hot for time of year.

The race started with a half lap of an athletics track, then a quick tarmac section to the first up hill on wood chippings, then a long flat fast section along the lakeside.

Having sized up to opposition, I decided to go with the early leaders, site behind them and see how fast and comfortable they were. At about 2.5 km The one person who was infront of me slowed very slightly and I decided to make my move and just lifted the pace a fraction.

The course left the lakeside and returned to the athletics track via the parks round the IOC offices.

5km split: 22:45
10km time 45:45

A great fun race, I really expected to come in last, not win. But you never know what is going to happen.

Well done, SB. You're a star.

Wonder why Holmes Place in Birmingham can't come up with as enticing an event?

V rap go and speak to them and see what they can come up with. It was a couple of the instructors who organised ours, I hope they are going to run it again next year.

I take it you are another "Holmes Placer"
