Can anyone tell me where this race starts from? I'd like a postcode for the sports & social club if it has one! And is there plenty of parking? Thanks.

Parking is in the field next door so more than plenty.

can't help with a postcode for the social club itself but the road it's off is The Bourne (i think) and postcodes for houses along there seem to be OX15 5P?

hope that helps a bit

Thanks for this - I have found The Bourne on a map and should be able to find it from there! I got a postcode for the centre from a web directory and this put it way out of the village.
Hope to see you there if you are taking part MOAT.

it was easy to find the one time i did it... so i assume it was reasonably signposted!

the only downside was finishing to find my supporters sat in the social club enjoying a pint of the old hooky.

it is pretty easy to find once you've found Hook Norton so you should be ok Feet.
i'm undecided about taking part but will be there to support clubmates if not (enjoying a pint of the local probably - it does come highly recommended!)

Hi MoaT

This will be my first race back from injury, so doubt I will be going full tilt.

take care and see you all there

whats not to like ?
13/07/2006 at 19:16
it's a long story but basically centres around me being an incredibly slow runner and being made to feel very uncomfortable about entering :o(

boo :-(
13/07/2006 at 21:39
i wouldn't have minded quite so much except i always say how slow i am on entry forms so they have a chance to reject me then. nevermind.

good course for spectators though - assuming you can get them out of the social club :o)

What do you class as slow?

This will be my first time!! and looking around the hour mark which isn't quick by any standard?

Starting to make me think again about entering now!! :(

17/07/2006 at 17:28
oh no, that's not slow - you'll be fine Joanne :o)
19/07/2006 at 12:08
I may well have a dart at this, but enter on the day since it's 3 days before my wife's due date and the baby may have ideas of its own....!
19/07/2006 at 12:26
i'll hold your mobile Mark and come and find you should you be needed :o)

I'm hoping for an hour too, but may struggle as have only just ran 4 miles without stopping! I'll give it a shot - you have made me feel better Joanne! Not the only one.

Lynda, I could only manage 4 a few weeks ago..

It's surprising how much the mileage can increase when you don't think about it!!

Once I get through the first 10 minutes (which I always feel like I'm dying in!!), everything doesn't feel so bad...

Have to admit - my little legs start to feel heavy after 35-40 mins though still!!

Drop me a line - I'm happy to meet up for a run and a gossip and a bit of inspiration if you need it Linda!!

Sorry!! Should have typed lYnda at the end there not lInda..

apologies!!

I ran my first 4 miles on Friday! I agree with you about the first 10 minutes, I don't enjoy at all. And then suddenly you find your pace and your away. Have you entered yet or waiting for the day?
