Oh they're not liquourice anymore, hate liquorice, dutch salted liquorice is horrible.

Chester Marathon had chocolate and some Haribo last year, Glasgow half a Tunnocks caramel, proper post race goodies.

So what was wrong with the bag or the race this weekend then?

More importantly, did you enjoy it ?

The bag was a Running Club bag with the  Club name written in bold letters.

That was no momento!.

Did I enjoy it?  No, I was too tired from my last race I had not fully recovered.  I also ran out of water  and the kind Marshals were offering water quarter of a cup filled at the water stations.

I also ruined my favourite running shoes which were coated with mud

Soooo its a big flounce coz you were tired you got your shoes dirty and you didnt like goody bag LOL

What's the use of worrying?

It never was worth while, so

Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,

And smile, smile, smile.

Folks I tried to copy and paste all the runners comments but my cheap computer starting playing up!

Here is one of the comments

Great race but disapointed with a bag & cereal bar considering entry fee In full: Race was very well organised and good atmosphere. Course is challenging but still enjoyable. Felt that a cheap bag and a cereal bar as "memento" was a bit pathetic. Date of review: January  28, 2013

A real momento would have been nice ....

....getting no reward, no momento to keep or show to the family or friends it's a bit wrong. Even the bag was an attempt to self advertise Invicta Club rather than the race. I did a few other local 10m races and at least you got a nice technical top or £5 Sweatshop vouchers. I hope the organisers will listen to the feedbacks and take it on board for next year Date of review: January  29, 2013

Prefer to get a mug! Probably will return as always looking to beat my previous times. Date of review: January  29, 2013

I don't mind a mug or a medal, but wasn't keen on the bag.
A couple of minor points.  We arrived early and the car parking was easy, with bays clearly marked.  There were some areas, e.g. the tennis courts where marshals might have helped.  Also the instructions asked people not to park on certain roads near the start as the race was die to take part.  Maybe I missed them, but there seemed to be no signs or marshals on the day to help with this.
It's great to have a bag drop, but it would have been easier for those who had given up their time to do this if they had labels to stick on bags.
I prefer to get the race number and chip before hand, but I can see the advantage to the organisers in not posting them. Date of review: January  28, 2013

In full: A mixed bag... I ad low expectation of momento (experience from last year etc) and so wasn't disappointed.... Date of review: January  28, 2013

Goldbettle I am still here waiting for Mr Race Director okay

Shall I contact him through the race website and ask him to come on here to respond to you?  You could wait a very long time, otherwise.

In short: Call that a memento - really don't bother...... In full: Fully expect large queues for the toilets and the sports hall to be packed - given the weather.  Was really disappointed with the race this year, not the organisers fault that weather had been bad, but totally there fault that they issued for a memento a bag that did not even have Canterbury 10 on it and a cereal bar - where was the medal......

.... Have done this race the last 5 years, but don't think I'll bother next year - no medal/t-shirt/mug then no entrance fee from me.

I quite liked the practicality of having a reasonably good quality bag as a momento rather than yet another medal, though I know medals are an essential for some. Date of review: January  28, 2013

I felt it wasn't great value for money and for competing in a 10 mile undulating race personally I like to receive a medal. Whilst the bag may be useful, as a competitive club runner I'm afraid to say I won't be using my red Invicta East Kent branded bag. Had it just read 'Canterbury 10 mile 2013' then of course I would! Date of review: January  27, 2013

No medal—if like that sort of thing.
For the first time in running I encountered an excessively aggressive runner. A little v50 tried to physically push me off the course because he was having trouble passing me. To him I'd like to say, don't be so unsporting. Run your own race, and don't interfere with mine. Other than that it's a good race. Date of review: January  27, 2013

Here are the comments from the Race Director:

The race has been a popular feature on the County race calendar for some years and has enjoyed some really positive feedback from those taking part. Indeed, the race has featured in Runners World’s list of top ten 10ks in the country for the last three years and so it is a bit disappointing to read a couple of negative reviews about the race on Runners World. The points raised will be thoroughly investigated and we will address any issues that arise as a consequence. Two areas of concern have been expressed – the parking and the start. The parking issue is largely beyond our control and all we can do is to try and accommodate as many people as we can with convenient parking facilities. As you may know, traditionally, the parking has always been on the sports field but because of recent poor weather we could not use the grounds. We managed to secure spaces for a further 300 cars at the Brakes offices – just a 10 minute walk from the race HQ – and, contrary to a comment made on the Runners World site, car parking directional signs were in place for all roads leading to the race – and you would have had to pass a Car Park sign to arrive at the race headquarters. The other comments are about the start and the fact that the start was called early – this certainly wasn’t an intentional act and we believe that if the start was called early then it was probably a matter of a minute or so rather than the reported several minutes. That said we are investigating this, will retrieve the start time and report back to those who have raised the issue with us.

Apart from those issues raised on Runners World, all other comments and emails received have been positive – and we are grateful to those who take the trouble to acknowledge the contribution to the race’s success by the marshals and support team. We do welcome any feedback on the race or its organisation and you can email us with any comments you may have

I love Race Directors and Marshals.

I like to Thank Karl Race Director and his thousands of Marshals who supported me during their race when it snowed.  It took me more than 15 mins a mile  Every single Marshals were just fabulous, and they gave me lots of words of encouragement.

It took me one whole week to thaw out
