Cracking race - bit like Coniston without the hills

Ran some of my best HMs here - and haven't ruled out a return!

I'm in... fantastic race this is!

Oy !

Don't publicise the fact, I haven't sent my form off yet.

Although I fancy the Anglesey Marathon the week after so I'm not too sure I will be able to do both.

Great place for a run though.

I sent mine today

Oooooooooooooooooooohhhhh !!!

Dog has cost me £500 at the vets this week.

Can I afford to enter this and Anglesey ?

ashley, it's a genuine PB course, virtually traffic free.  you've gotta have a great chance

I had a shocker in 2007 - over 3 hrs.

My worst ever race.

Aiming for around 2:00 - 2:10 this time.

got my second half in 5 weeks at ironbridge so im hoping to get under 1:40 with that BUT its not a brilliant course for PB's

Under 1:40 in only your second half ???

I'm guessng you have some sort of affliction ?

Possibly Youth or Latent Talent.

Possibly both.

I wish I could get under 2hrs

Clashes with my honeymoon. I have already negotiated an early return so I can run the GNR. I'm told a successful marriage is built on compromise (must have been where I went wrong the 1st time)!  Don't think I can push it any further!!

Ashley-  you may regret your target time for lake vyrnwy, but i've done the same.  I ran the GNR in 2007 with a time of 1:31 on a course which is downhill.  So setting a target time of 1:25 in my diary for lake vyrnwy could be suicide.

your kind of right, im 2o and all my school life ive been a track and field athlete. since then ive not done anything but since the new year ive turned a leaf running mostly every day. 5 weeks on i ran my first half. and set my goals on under 1:20 by the end of the year. im very competitive and take everything i do serious. i know its a huge goal in my first year of running distance but i truely think its a possible goal.

Cap66 -  i know its a big goal but eith the plan of running i have coming up i think i may have that goal before then. but who knows. im still learning the in's and outs of distance running, like what to eat . . what to drink (and during event) but im a quick learner =D

Ashley- I have learnt what to eat and drink and that is whatever i like.  Yes this may lead to slower times, but i enjoy my food more.  It is not until 2 days before an event that i think about what i'm eating.

17/02/2009 at 20:10
but like you said there it may lead to a slower time, im like to take it serious, not because im obsesive or anything but because i enjoy being the best at what i do.
what time are you looking at cap66 ?
