My 1st Ultra marathon
If anyone out there is debating wether to try this or not, my advice is "JUST DO IT"!
Fantastic event, the organisation was brilliant, supporters and helpers at check points should be given a medal too, they were all so helpful and cheerful even tho they'd been there for hours and hours and hours and.......
The course was tough, hot sunny day didn't help, but the scenery and views were a fantastic reward. I ran with 3 friends, we supported each other, we all had at least one low point! finished in 159 out of 404 (I think) finishers, crossed the line just after 3am to an almighty cheer and applause, it was so emotional I could've cried! I just hope the noise level didn't upset the locals too much, as it would such a shame to end such a fantastic and emotional journey to a silent finish!! (Maybe get them all to enter next year!!!)
