I did this one last year Muppley.  Not exactly a PB course but it's not impossible.  All I would say is to make sure you save a lot for the interminable hill that starts around the 10.5 mile mark and goes on for at least a mile.

Hey, I was going to make this my second half-marathon, aiming to beat my 1:37 from Milton Keynes a month or so ago. Is anyone training for for it in the Cambs area?

I am doing this one too, I live in Norfolk now but used to live in Ipswich so I'm looking forwards to running there.

No not yet, was going to e-mail them if I hadn't receved anything in the next 10 days or so.  If you go to the Ipswich Jaffa's homepage you can check the entry list to make sure you are in.

Numbers are now being mailed out ,so if you have already entered you should get yours soon.  As has already been said you can check you are on the entry list by going to Jaff'as homepage and clicking on their events tab and then on the half marathon tab.

 Good luck with your training.

Hello all

I am running this, first half marathon, and first competivie run. So it'll be a PB no matter what time I run it it

I know the first half quite well as I use some of the roads as a normal route.  Planning to run the second half this weekend so I know whats in store.

Good luck with your training and hope it all goes well on the day.   We will be handing out the medals at the end.

I've done a few ten miler's, but generally my 'normal' runs are between 6 and 8 miles. I have no plans to put in any longer runs between now and the 29th. I would also recommend you do not over run the distance the week before the event; unless of course you're an accomplished runner and know how your body will react to the distance.

Still time to enter both the half marathon and the Fun Run as the deadline for entries has been extended to August 21st.

Just signed up for this, suppose I better run 10 miles tomorrow!!

Good luck all - I'm running this too. I drove the coarse last week, and was surprised by just how hilly the section up to about 7miles is! I dont mind the last climb after 10.5, at least there is a stretch before then that is downhill, so it will likely balance out.

Good luck to everyone on Sunday from us all at Larking Gowen.  It will be a great day and we are all looking forward to it.

Hi Anna

Is it just plain water at the water stations? Bottles / cups?

Also, what sort of sponge is available at sponge station? Victoria hopefully

Thanks
