I lived in north Leeds until 6 years ago and I can't think of any section thats a killer. A couple of longish drags perhaps but nothing painful Don't worry about it.

I spent a long time worrying about the hills before the Leeds Half last year (It was my fist half marathon back then). Stonegate road is steep, there is denying it, but all the hills are in the first half of the race and I remembered getting past them before I'd realised and wondered what all the fuss was about.

So don't worry about the hills. Remember the golden rule, use the same effort for uphills as for downhills NOT the same pace.

Morning all

Yes they are more drags than hills as we know them in Yorkshire! Not the worst hills Ive ever done by any means! (I woke up in a sweat dreaming about trooper lane again last night......)

Treiziste- Has someone mailed you their number yet? Ill mail mine later if necessary.

Sparko -This one is sold out unless you have already entered. I am doing two halfs within a week in July. But I am a bit strange.

Just out of interest Stoxy, is there any race you aren't doing?

I don't know how you have the energy. I need at least tow weeks to full recover from a half marathon.

My spelling/grammar etc is becoming terrible.
Must be time to go home!

I've just bought the jelly babies. Now I just need to remember to bring them on the day.

12pm pub opening will give me time for a shower first ;)

Stupidly did an hour on the treadmill this morning which trashed my legs more than I was expecting. Still, I wasn't intending to go for a PB anyway, I'm saving my big efforts for Edinburgh in two weeks...

Is anyone looking for a late entry to this race?, I have picked up a lousy virus and reluctantly (under docs orders) I am pulling out. Not sure how transfering numbers works though.
11/05/2007 at 21:06
Race number 15 (any lower and I'd have my name on instead), and a green/yellow/blue St Bedes vest or a white t-shirt or a bin liner depending on the time, weather and inclination.

Do they supply water, preferably cold, at the end of the race? Last one I did was Reading and didn't bring any sort of recovery drink with me which probably wasn't a great idea coupled with a 3 hour or so drive home afterwards!

Would ideally like to bring a bottle with some SIS Rego powder ready in it and add some water to make it up rather than leave it to warm up in the car.

Thanks for the advice, just what I want to hear, no more training, great. I will try to get to the pub, but touch and go on time available after the race, before I have to go. So I will try and finish quicker!

There ought to be Scott but if not there are a few newsagents near by who'll be open to buy a bottle.
