I have in mind a dark red for next year which is about as close as you will EVER get to that other colour. As you know red is a colour I rarely use...

That's a good colour to disguise all the bleeding nipples on the blokes! Seriously guys - VASELINE THEM! I saw so many cracked nips at the English half......

I'm intending to run the half, big man. It's about time I stopped cheering and started moving a bit. Plus, I've done em all since 2005

Show off.....I wish I'd been running them since 2005!  Back then I was still enjoying drunken weekends in the Raz & Krazyhouse and the only thing I did to shift weight that year was quit my job & plan a wedding!

Hold on......isn't next years race on St Patrick's day?

But yet you're still only 26 LB

Started discussion yesterday about the practicalities of shifting the start / finish area to the Pier Head. Not without it's difficulties I have to say!!

I want to keep the course more or less intact but move to the Pier Head as the area by the Arena (especially the roadway) is too small for the size of the event.

26! Always 26 Alan!

I even wrote 26 on my last RL form! Sunday is the big day.

It's all gone a bit quiet in here since LB mentioned her age.  How are things going with the start/finish area Alan?

Is there going to be a HM within the marathon?  I'd love to do it if there is.  I can't do the HM in March as it clashes with the Fleet HM which is my local.

Thanks Mark - that doesn't sound good

I thought I'd post on here as I've decided to do this and have with less than 12 weeks to go thought others would also be starting their training?

I've not done any of the Liverpool races before- and this will only be my second HM (I did Preston in October).

Does anyone know what the start time for the race usually is and what parking/ transport is normally like? I always find Liverpool very stressful to get in and out of for some reason from my way (South Lancashire)

Train and hotel booked!cant wait now

Penguingirl - I think that they are reviewing the start this year (waiting for confirmation from Alan with fingers crossed) so that it starts from in front of the Royal Liver Building.

There are loads of car parks - but usually you have to pay. I think that last year, Alan had an arrangement with one car park so that it was only about £2 (which was a bargain) Let's see what rabbit Alan can produce this year.

If you can get the train in to Lime street, then you could transfer to the underground (Wirral Line) for 2 stops and get off at James street. This will get you to within about 500m of the start.

That sounds promising about the discounted parking- fingers crossed it happens again this year- I just need to get my credit card out and enter this now!

Even if the start move doesn't happen.....and there's no discounted parking....this is a great city Half Marathon that runs so close to major landmarks.  The sight of the Liverbirds getting larger on your way back in along the prom is brilliant.....passing the Anglican Cathedral in the first couple of miles....can't wait to do this one again!

Booked my place Also just read last years thread and it sounds like it was a great race so I'm really looking forward to it now. Just need crack on with the training- only 10 weeks to go!

Booked and training hard!

Great race - very hilly, but since it's only half legs can easily get through it!

Did a 1.36 last year, but had only been running a few months. Passed halfway in full marathon in October in 1.31 after holding back a little...

Training like Rocky at the mo and will be going for a sub 1.25...

Very excited - COME ON!!!
