I thought this would be an ideal distance for a beginner like me but was amazed to realise that all the serious runners were there and i was left far behind. Still did a PB of 32 mins though so I should be grateful, I suppose, but it was a bit lonely out there!! Are 5K races like that too, or was it just because prize money was involved?
