i did last years at greenwich park.  good fun apart from the uphill icy road....most of us walked as the suits were made of felt and became very sweatie.

Did this one in Battersea Park last year!

It was a good laugh especially all the Santas doing the aerobic warm-up before the start!  Hilarious!

My tip for a good race in a santa suit - take a belt or your trousers will fall down....

Have just found one local to me!! First time I'll have get to race on home turf  And in a Santa suit at that!

Quick question - I'm fairly short, so am I likely to be tripping over the legs of my suit? Should I take safety pins??

I don't quite scrape 5ft 1, so lots of hitching probably required. Do they want the suits back? I could always hack the bottom off if not...

yep...you keep the suit.  its not the greatest of material and avoid the beard.....the white and red fluff gets everywhere.......

Points noted. I'll skip the beard and take scissors on the day. Just what every runner needs

The training's going well, so far, so good, I'm up to 45 minutes!

So tomorrow's the big day! I'm psyched- my return to racing after 4 years. I hope to see a few familiar faces- definitely BBH, and maybe I'll spot a few non-RW friends.

I am packing everything except the kitchen sink!

Hi BBH! It was nice to run into you at the halfway mark...and then you took off into the distance!

I got there about 9am, which was good planning, because there were still very long queues for the chips and costumes not long before 10am. The start of the race was delayed by 15 minutes to allow for this delay. It was good racing weather, no rain, overcast, chilly, but we had our costumes to keep us warm.
And then we were off! 2laps of Battersea Park, the time passed very quickly in spite of my slow tempo. It was fun seeing unsuspecting citizens do double-takes when they saw us, and no doubt there were some very confused children!
Back in Sloane Square afterwards, to take the tube home, there were a few Santas about, people were smiling at them.
I think I'll do this one again next year!
