Does anyone know much about this one?

Just seen this has popped up on the fixture lists. Same day as the Whitley 10k in the Cheshire GP so attendance will be significantly down. Is this a road race or a MMT 10K? What's the route like? Bit steep price wise too when you consider that Whitley is half the price. I'm still kind of tempted to run it though as I don't like the Whitley 10k for some reason.

I'm having a serious think about it - I'm hoping to be up to 10k by then (just about coping with a 5k) and my SiL and family live over that way...Would love more people to give me an idea of terrain? Hilly??

Is the race classed as a MT or road race?

How many do you expect to run?

Is there a course profile online to view?

Cheers

Hi Stevie

I would say it's MT as it's two laps: each lap starts around Lymm High School grounds (grass), then drops into Lymm village (road), round and back up to the school. The gradient is fairly steep but only about three hundred metres.

Course route is here (no profile sorry): http://lymm.com/10K

As of today we're currently approaching 300 runners and we predict 500+ (limit 750). The goody bag is going to be exceptional by the way!

Cheers Neil! I might go a run the course before hand to I know what I'm doing effort wise. Is the whole course open access? Looking forward to it! I'll enter next pay day. And for £20 entry I expect my car to be cleaned when I get back, never mind a decent goody bag

Not an open route as some is on the grounds of Lymm High.

FYI the start list is publicly available.

All Fun Run competitors receive a medal, yes. You can still enter - 406 entrants as of this morning!

Also we'll be posting out final instructions later in the week - but we're now handing out numbers on the day.

Hi Barbara, you may still be OK for an "on day" entry, however numbers are limited so arrive early! (8:30 - 9am).

It's been an amazing response for a first time event - who knows how big it might be next year!

See you on Sunday!

great race, well marshalled, and good friendly atmosphere,,goodie bag or should I say bags truly awesome. Only thing to improve is to ensure the presentations is immediately after the finish and near the drinks tents etc..Think alot more people would have stayed and applauded the winners. Lucky the gazebo blew over or would have been even fewer present!!
