Just entered this again. Is one of the toughest road halves in the country. Great fun though....

Howdy Surrey, good choice, my local club put this one on, so luckily I marshall it and don't have to run!

Do remember being wrecked when I ran it in 02 and 05 though...voted 5th toughest half marathon course in the country once.

I am in!!! I did it last year, and even though the terrain was quite challenging, the beautiful scenery, the great organising and support from locals was amazing.

Timi! You've changed your name!

I should be marshalling around 10miles somewhere, so will give you a cheer!

Its because it is so tough that I am doing 18 mile training runs!  Though remembering Rotten Row makes me think I should extend them to 20....

Surrey, if it's any consolation, i remember being so drained after finishing in 2002, that simple Grapefruit Juice tasted like the most incredible thing ever. I think I got through the last 5miles promising myself all manner of junk food too!

Stevie you really know how to promote an event

I have been toying with doing this as my last half of the year but haven't quite made my mind up.

There are courses to go pbs on,then there's challenging courses set in great surroundings in a nice small town, put on a by a great and friendly club.

that's better

Lozza...get along there...the satisfaction of finishing a half is always immense... if that half is Marlow x it by 10

Go on Loz - you know it makes sense..........

Ok I finally got round to posting the form for this one so I'm in as long as it's not full yet.

Ouch! I just entered this as work clashes with Gosport (very flat - my favourite for PB hunting). Have I made a terrible mistake? I guess it's got to be good preparation for 26.2 .

Vioolman,

I did this last year and am doing again.  Don't expect a PB unless your current is very old or you are a fast improving beginner.

It is very, very hilly...

Exciting! I am in too - I heard from a runner(from my Maidenhead run) that he did it before and it is TOUGH! Looking forward to the challenge!

03/10/2012 at 14:03

Wtf? This one's as flat as a pancake. Don't be taken in by the hype

I'm surprised you do this one Muttley, unless they now give out medals  instead of T-shirts.  Mind you, the last time I ran this was 2000 so this is very old news.........

09/10/2012 at 15:05

haha I am doooooomed! Entered before remembering there are lots of hills! crrap

Muttley - flat as a pancake? What sort of pancakes do you eat?

Forget the hills, enjoy the scenery and hope for dry weather.

This is my first half marathon and I'm becoming quite worried by the comments on the hills. Only just managed 12.5 miles at the weekend and that was quite flat. Maybe I should have chosen the Henley one yesterday.
