At a couple of large half marathons I've ran at, I have noticed that there has sometimes been tents with trainee physios giving runners massages for free inside. My girlfriend is almost into her second year of a Physiopherapy degree and would love the chance of some work experience on runners, but we can't find any details anywhere about it. We've tried searching the websites of events' but are unable to find any information on it, so any other ideas at all?

Thankyou

Shaun, what about contacting sports massage places in your area and asking if they provide race massages, then asking if she would be able to go with them?

some of my colleagues who are qualified and experienced Physios worked at London Marathon and i think they had to apply in advance

probably best to contact the Race organisers and see if they have any requirements

or go and offer to work voluntarily at an athletics or Tri club to get some experience?

At big events I massage for charities. I worked at FLM for the last 2 years, but I did have to provide qualification certs and insurance documents.

Her tutors/uni should be able to let her know how it would work?

MissP likes to inflict pain though, especially on Nicko and I have the photo to prove it.
