24/07/2014 at 17:43

No but I'm interested to hear how you find it. Solo/pair/team?

hi natty, doing as part of a team with running club, they did it last year and loved it!

I am doing a few extra laps with someone I know from twitter that is running solo...

How's the long runs going this weekend folks?

Was an early but still sweaty 30km for me this morning. Planned the shadiest route I could and allowed plenty of walk breaks which I think is fair given the heat, hills and first time carrying a hyd pack.

I'm on holiday in Majorca this week, so adhering to my schedule will be hindered somewhat...

I packed my stuff and plan to keep the mileage tIcking over. I did 5 miles this morning and will probably do the same for the next 4-5 days, before returning home next weekend where I can 'look forward' to my planned 17 miler!

Think I'm way behind you all, today was last day of recovery week for me hill repeats yesterday and just 5 miles this morn. Long run nxt wk 14 miles.

Awesome work Natty  Enjoy your hol hilly !

Don't feel you're behind, it really does depend what plan your using as to what long runs you've got and when. I have events most weekend through the summer, some running, some MTB, but these throw my plan out of sync so I started early to allow for race weeks and recovery weeks. The final 6weeks will be the only uninterrupted ones for me.

Also, hill repeats on a rest week ?!?

Yep ! doms just setting in ! Not sure about intervals on day before long runs  will stick with it for next couple and see how it goes.

hi folks, have just got in to work after a fab week end at thunder run! I can honestl asy that it was the best race I have done, a great course, well marshalled, clean toilets and hot clean showers.

Fantastic support, mostly from fellow runners between laps! I cant wait for next years event!

28/07/2014 at 10:47

Wow ...clean toilets and clean hot showers ?!!!  Amazing ! Sounded like a great event you must still be buzzing ! What distance did you run overall ?

28/07/2014 at 11:20

mIanaged 4 laps, so 40k, couldve done more but order of runs got messed up as we had a few drop out and some injuries.

the fact that most of the crowd were runners was amazing too, they ad either just run or were just about to run, and no one said "you are nearly there, keep going" !!

It was like a big running carnival, every one was really friendly, and yes, I am still buzzing!!

Awesome !! Sounds great !

Just entered.  At least there is plenty of time to build up to the long runs.

Will try a different training plan and see if that helps
