Not a chance Hayley. It will definitely happen

No-one has suggested The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men for the playlist yet

Did a couple of miles this evening in the rain wearing vest, shorts and cap.  Will definitely be wearing gloves after trying without.  Might pop my Featherlight jacket in my bum bag or might not.

Where is the VIP parking anyway?

I shall be parking at the station and walking across to the stadium

USB - I'm not in the VIP parking either, so where is the best/closest place to park in your opinion?

I'm not sure really as I usually only  go over to that bit of MK to go to IKEA or the station.  As well as the industrial estates suggested by the organisers there is also stuff to the west of the stadium and a big car park behind Bletchley bus station that appears to be long stay and free

Still wet here

I've got VIP as well. Looks like it is just outside of the stadium.

Forecast is showing high wind for the start but possibly slackening towards the end. So we will get the pain of running into the wind but not the benefit of a tail wind to help us home.

No rain in this I'm afraid!

They did say the weather was going to be okay today where I am  but it isnt, so hopefully they have tomorrow wrong! Whatever happens I have just decided to make the best of it, and just set out and see how it goes

Bit of rain should help with the cooling
28/04/2012 at 12:23

Does anybody think it will be called off tomorrow?

28/04/2012 at 12:24
In a way I'm glad about the conditions as the pressure is off in trying to break my PB. Still to decide what to wear. On the one hand don't want to get too hot but on the other hand don't want to get too cold and the flu I've finally shifted to come back.

I got a running cap as a freebie from another race. May be an idea to wear it as will give my head some protection from rain.

My luck this year! Watford half marathon called off due to the only significant snow of the winter arriving on the evening before the race. Milton Keynes half-marathon - rained the whole time, except when it snowed. And now...

I'm definitely taking my ultralight jacket. This gives me two options:

1) don't bother wearing it and get wet from the outside in; or
2) wear it and get wet from the inside out

decisions, decisions.....

went out for 4 miles this morning, hat & gloves might be a good idea

David it will not be called off
28/04/2012 at 13:13

Cheers - taken taken the view that I am going to run come what may. Other wise I'll spend the next 24hrs trying to work out what to do....

I'm still not sure what I'm wearing. Going to take a few different options with me and decide about 8am tomorrow.

I bought a poncho in Tesco for 97p. So I'll probably wear that and ditch it at or shortly after the start. Probably just a t-shirt underneath, or maybe long-sleeved top.

I'll take thin gloves too, I'll take a couple of spare safety pins so I can attach them to my top if I don't need to wear them.

Oh, and I'll leave a towel either with my buggage or in the car.

Oh, and I'm edging towards "survive it" rather than sub-4.
