Congratulations Dave! Good luck for London next year!

The official results are now out. Seems as if they've shaved off a few more precious seconds off our first published chip times. And the detour is now 0.23 miles instead of 250m unofficially. At this rate, I should get a GFA for London by the end of May

Hi Sleeply Lion, where did you see the detour is 0.23 miles?

On the Race Distance page of the MK Marathon website:

Dave P: Thanks. Yes it was a PB for me (a large one) & my first time under 3 hours, so I am delighted! Didn't think it was on in that weather but just decided to run as planned anyway and it came off.

SL: Those results look a little confusing now, still if I have got an extra 44 seconds off I won't complain. I wonder if they will be officially recognised and it will be updated on power of 10?

On the downside though as i was so happy after the race I ordered the i-tab & official photos, they all say my old time!

Thanks SleepLion, but again it seems they are guessing.

I think 0.23 miles is closer. I know I passed the official 8 mile marker almost three minutes after clocking 8 miles on my Garmin. Allowing for normal Garmin errors, this would be about right.

At least I got an unofficial PB.

I can't see any change in my result - I've still got the same time. Though I notice there are a few hundred more results in total since the original spreadsheet was published.

Never been so happy to see a finish line in all my life, well when I eventually worked out where the fecking thing was anyway

Thanks Tenjiso, I'm paying for it now! Off for a much needed sports massage after work

Please where are updated results? Mine are still the same
02/05/2012 at 13:09
I think the results have changed back again, because I saw one result earlier and another 1 min ago. So I think it best to wait until they remove the word Provision from the website.

0.23 miles is an awful lot. I appreciate they had to do it but it's a massive amount.....
Can't help thinking that if they adjust the times it might make a bigger fiasco out of it????

Unless the updated results are going to be officially recognised they should leave it

They won't change the results. Recognising the extra length of the race is all they are doing . The only time you have is the time for the race NOT the time for 26.2 miles. In this case the race is longer than 26.2 miles. Feel free to approximate an exact marathon distance time for yourselves but nothing will change.

It's easier to change the name of the race. That way I can say I completed the "Milton Keynes Ultra Marathon"! Woot!

Hey the times did come down now seem to be back to what they were??? I somehow dropped  22 seconds but lost 4 places, now it is back to what it was before and my garmin said it was 0.39 mile, maybe it was all the weaving around puddles that added on the extra

This years Brighton half was measured long and times adjusted accordingly. That was a measuring mistake tho and not a deliberate diversion??! Still they can adjust times by the looks of it and it does say on the website that they are awaiting feedback.

Rog Reid. I'd take 22seconds gets me into sub 3.30
