I haven't gotten anything in the post for the marathon... I was expecting to pick everything up the day before.

Ok, was thinking we would get something to bring to registration. Best of luck with the Marathon, I'm only doing half!

For the marathon, got an email yesterday (Friday the 30th) that had bib number and pickup details.

Oddly, my other half's 10k email hasn't appeared.

I'm doing full marathon and hubby doing half marathon, haven't received anything via email as yet. i will just take first email we had when we registered if i dont get anything before we fly out on Friday.

Getting excited now, and especially as it is my 40th birthday on Saturday , what a great way to celebrate!!

Hi all,

Hope everyone enjoyed Munich - how did your runs go?

It was my first marathon and I absolutely loved it! Got in at 4:11 which I was pretty pleased with, was aiming at sub 4hr pace but couldn't keep it going past about the 33-34k mark. I'm struggling to think about much else other than when can I do another now (converted)!

For me, the weather was just about perfect and the run was pretty interesting, entering the stadium certainly didn't disappoint either - I was cursing the stairs leading out of the Stadium somewhat however after finishing.

Paul that is a fantastic time for your first marathon.

I done my first in Paris in April this year and done it in 4hr 14 min, for Munich i wasnt expecting as good a time as I really hadnt put in as many miles as when training for Paris, but I managed it in 4hr 16min, so was well pleased with that. I was going good all the way, until about mile 22, then the legs just seem to go and stopping at the drinks station was certainly hard to get going again. coming into the stadium was fantastic.

you are like me then after my first marathon looking for your next one.  I got rejected for London for next year, 1st time at applying, but never mind. possibly looking at doing edinburgh marathon - nice and flat so i have heard.

Once again well done on your time, I hope you celebrated with a beer afterwards!!

Thanks Wendy - yes plenty of celebratory weissbeer consumed afterwards!

I'm thinking about Edinburgh as well with a view to maybe doing Berlin afterwards, just have to find a way to keep running through the winter now!
