Hey Howard, interesting article in this month's RW about 'bare foot' shoes... wonder if you may benefit from that therapy? My guess is that you may have had years of shoes that you never knew really didn't suit your feet and style. ??

Listen to your body, they say... Why didn't I ,? when I crossed 10 miles of Freezing Brecons, and it was shouting WTF?! WTF?! ... hmm, anyway covered a run/walk in very slow time.. 23.8 miles. Mad as a soddin hatter.

You said it! But well done anyway Ged.

I've just completed 99.9 miles for the year and my foot is not complaining. Longest run has been 5.4 miles so I will try something a little longer soon. No speedwork as yet.

10 miles for me today.... same 10 as 2 weeks ago, but only a minute quicker... was just too tired today

Trouble with my foot again. Maybe the running or maybe a walk I did in 34 year old walking boots. Anyway haven't run for over a week.

First run in two and a half weeks. Two miles gently with no problems so finger crossed start building up again and throw the walking boots in the bin. Rest day tomorrow!!

Foot still ok today

You can easily mess yourself up with bad footwear. Take care H.

Had a  mixed couple of weeks.. think a virus hit me.. no energy.. went out yesterday, was knackered after 1.5 miles, and turned back to finish the 3 miles. Rubbish.... And yet did 10 miles tonight.. same route as 4 weeks back, but beat it by 7m27s... and ran all the hills.. just seemed to get my mind right today.. stayed focussed. Dusseldorf in 4 weeks.. I guess I have to do a 22 next weekend.. not looking fwd.. but feel marginally more confident now.. still need some speedwork in the week.

Hellooooo everyone, one more week before London and ive done very little training for the last 6 weeks due to calf injury but i've kept myself as fit as possible in the gym, not perfect preperation but it will have to do.

Really glad to hear you are on the mend Howard, i knew you would be back one day

Good luck with the training over the next month Ged, im sure you will be ready.

Went to watch the marathon today.Saw some friends from the sub-4 thread including one who finished in 3.31 AND one who set the World record for a woman finishing the London Marathon in a full wedding dress. She did it in 4.11 which is well outside her PB. She will be on "This Morning" tomorrow (Monday)

How did you get on Supes?

Hello Howard

I managed 4 hrs 50 mins, a bit slow but considering the poor preperation i had i was pleased to get round in one piece.

It was a good day though and enjoyed getting back into the long races.
