I use the footpod but dont bother to calibrate it. Its only relied on when the watch loses the GPS signal - so for the tunnels its being used for a short time only - and for that its plenty accurate enough without any calibration at all.

I am going Out.  Not done it in a while....I have my tracker on.  Farewell.

(Ward, if you survive the run and you and M are in the 'Diff then come on up to the Conway....)

I know American plitics is not something you all follow, but this is running related. At last nights annual dinner, one in which both candidates attend and make speeches poking fun at each ther and themsleves, this delightful one from Pres. Obama:

"I have to admit it can be a grind. Sometimes it feels like this race has dragged on forever. But Paul Ryan assured me that we’ve only been running for 2 hours and 50-something minutes."

Dannirr - and for that reason alone, I'm hoping for no change at the top.

Oh, and I am boringly obsessed with American politics.

Flight booked and paid for

Hotel booked (big, big thanks to ATM for the advice) and paid for (The Cujas Pantheon if anyone else is planning to stay there - £174 euros for two nights for single room)

Danirr - That is a fantastic quote. I like Obama - I think that he's the most level headed out of all of them.

A big thank you to ATM for her paris hotel guide and some suggestions for the day. It was a great help!

Hello - Could I join in the list too please?   I am in the Greens - number is 40116.

This is my first Paris marathon (first marathon abroad) so am grateful for all the tips and encouragement in this thread so far - and looking forward to more to follow!

Thanks

Nic - Welcome to the mad house. You've picked a great race for your first race abroad.

Some pictures from the Toronto Marathon.  Beard will be shaped into some Edwardian style by the time I see some of you in London in a couple of weeks (so, will look even more ridiculous)
