...and the beat goes on...
My only binary thing in running is go, or no go.
Here are a few more to add to the 'Who's Doing What List'. Mine so far are:
Dec 9 - Lisbon Half Marathon
Feb 17 - Bramley 20
Mar 3 - Surrey Spitfire 20
Mar 24 - Hastings Half Mara
Apr 7 - Paris Mara
May 5 - Ranelagh Harriers Richmond Half Mara
May 26 - Edinburgh Mara
Sept 15 - Great North Run
Sept 29 - Berlin Mara
? Nov - New York Mara
Possibly a few more half marathons toward the end of the summer (IOW, Canterbury, New Forest) if I decided to do enter.
just been blown away watching this amazing documentary on pioneering testing to determine brain activity, awareness, conciousness in patients who had suffered major brain trauma and were orignally diagnosed as in a vegetative state. Very emotional. These parents looking after their sons with the hope that their son is still in there. Amazing stuff.
Sometimes my own brain activity is hard to detect Jimbob.
Talking of fashion sense Tricky I was in London at the w/end and visited one of my old haunts- Blackmans the shoe shop in Brick Lane East London . Bought 2 pairs of suade boots, one black one brown. The black ones have crepe soles and serious attitude (very Steve McQueen)- I think you'd like them
And they have a 2 inch heel so you'll definately look up to me
We talking desert boots OO?
Although with that heel maybe not!
I'm starting to feel under dressed for the forum. Last pair of non-running shoes I bought was a pair of Converse All Stars!
I've decided I'm too old to care about fashion now - it's easier that way If I like it, I'll wear it.
I do love quirky shoes though...
My boys bought me some stunning tartanish light blue DM's. Other half hates themATM, started out in Ardbeg on the Isle of Bute, cantered across to the maiknland, Glasgow, Kilsyth, Kirkie and then emigrated to England. Been in Wales since '1100011 cba to work out binary for 1999
Straycelt - whereabouts in Wales? I'm in Cardiff...
I'm not really fashion conscious... I just dont' want to look like crap. I'm trying to learn what looks good on me to know what to avoid
I'm not remotely fashion consious. Although my niece slags me off for still looking like a grunge reject from 1991! Apparently you're not supposed to just replace old clothes with new clothes that look pretty much like the old ones.
Eggy, are you not?
Emmy, there's actually a lot of truth in that - once I worked out I was an hourglass shape (this is apparently a Good Thing!) having assumed I was a pear it all became a lot easier...
Just done my first tempo run for a month. It hurt. A lot.
I am. Although I enjoy making my niece ill by telling her in 1991 I was in my wearing leather trousers in a Jim Morrison stylee phase.
Sadly despite what I thought at the time I was neither Jim Morrison or remotely rock star-ish!
First run with rucksack..........harder than I thought too especially the hills. Only did 8 miles as I started to feel very cold?? Diverted to my mums, hot shower and changed before being chauffered home!!
I have no fashion sense either, much to the disgust of teenage daughter. And I am also to old to care!! But given the fact that Orkney fashion is still in the '90's I am doing ok!!
