Eggy - I adore Father Ted. I suppose the problem with Mrs Brown is it's Northern Irish - I grew up with stuff like it on BBC N. Ireland on all the time... Familiarity breeds contempt etc. I guess.

I *love* Father Ted.... there are so many funny lines in it.

Malcs - if you have a look at TD's post on page 331 about the Stop the Traffik run. I'd love to do it, but can't really afford it, so suggested anyone in the same boat as me could meet up and do a marathon over here to coincide with the finish. Someone christened it the Parallelathon. Venue and time TBA. Date TBA as well, but possibly Jul 22 or thereabouts.

I'm in the process of securing vacation from work but as I live in Brussels it would be heresy for me not to do one or two marathons towards the end at least

I've been to the osteopath, lalalalalalalaaaaaaaa he has realigned me, my right hip was higher than my left due to weakness on left side and resulting overcompensation....goodness knows how long this has been building up for.  Feel a bit sore now after being brutalised but at the same time much better...

YM - good news. Hope it feels better soon

Never trust an osteopath who says "Now just hug this pillow and take a deep breath"

Good job he's easy on the eye really....

Great news, yer_maj.The Bench will by empty by New Year...

So...

Anyone interested in forming a Team...we need at least 6..for the Marathon Talk Jantastic  competition? The rules read a bit like Numberwang ( Remember, The League of Gentlemen?) but I think I understand..We set our own goals, log our runs honestly and see if we can stick to the plan! Oh, and we'd need a Team name...

@ATM - I'm currently it's team enigma but I could be made to jump ship jantastic is a great incentive. It really helped me last year in sticking to goals for the VLM.

The first month focuses number of runs
Febulous is about duration
Marchvellous is about duration + number of runs and time

There is already a Paris group set up if anyone is interested.
@Weedy - you're a regular marathon talker, right? If you're interested the new stock is in

@Yer-maj - great news about the hip! You'll be back on your feet in no time!
@Dannirr - have you seen the hen night one?

I think I'll take it one step at a time, Emmy. January,' number of runs ', I understand.. By March, you'll have to draw me a diagram.

My wife bought a specialize vita elite in the spring and she loves it. Her favourite part is the saddle which she says is incredibly comfortable. She no longer walks like John Wayne afterwards so there must be something in it.

That's like the road bike I have.  his name is Gabbana as the full name is a specialised dolce elite.  the seat is lovely.

Tried the 30 mins walking (BORING!) and almost managed it.  Will give it another go on wednesday and see if there's any improvement.

Just watched my mates that did the celtman earlier this year.  Felt very slack!  and the guy that I ran with in Lanzarote (28kms that broke me) won this ultra http://www.endurancelife.com/event-new.asp?series=70&location=174 at the weekend...so I wasn't running with a slow poke!! I think I need some saner friends...any volunteers?

10/12/2012 at 21:18
You're actually asking for sane friends here?

Emmy - So I heard. Sadly, all my spare cash goes to help ensure my physio has at least six foreign holidays a year. And he tells me all about them every time I see him as well, which is nice of him.
