...and the beat goes on...
and get the medal round yer neck
Can I join the sightseers? I'll bring Wine Gums for everyone
You can't buy your running buddies, Weedy...besides, I don't like winegums
No worries Yer Maj, I might not even make it unless I can get to the bottom of what's wrong soon enough to start getting my long runs in.
Okay thanks Eggy. Just faffing on back and forth with the garage and insurance company now...
okay, so weedy's in too. I'm not above bribery. Although, I hope you don't have to join us weedy and get yourself sorted out.
Wash your mouth out....
Weedy - not good....I must have missed something - what's going on for you??
Cheers Sal, Orbutt
Yer Maj - You're gonna wish you hadn't asked, but here goes... Remembrance Day run last year felt fine and I got a PB, but was limping by the end of the day with pain in my right knee. Me and physio figured it's ITB, so I've been doing stretches and exercises since and building my runs back up.
It's been at the back of my mind that my gait must have changed somehow as I've never had ITB bother before. Couple of weeks ago I had a brainwave that the problem started six weeks after I began using a new orthotic, so I went back to my old ones as a test. Hey presto, problem cleared up instantly, champagne, celebrations etc etc. Altho problems I had with pinched nerves in my feet from the old orthics are back. Then on Friday I woke up about 3am with a pain on both sides of my left achilles. Can't work out what's caused it as I didn't run on Thursday and I'm still limping three days later with no sign of improvement.
So, do I go back to the new othotics and put up with pain in the right knee? Or do I stick with the old orthotics and put up with numbness in my toes when I run (assuming the achilles pain clears)? Or go to the podiatrist and try an even newer set of orthotics? Or give minimalist running a shot and see what happens? Or saw my legs off?
If I can't figure out what the solution is soon, I'm not going to have enough time left to train properly.
Podiatrist I reckon??
Weedy - you sound just like me pre-minimalist. I think you are a perfect candidate for the switch, but of course the usual warning applies - take it very, very slowly. You cannot do it before Paris.
Come on Simon, cricket's not even a sport!
I'd use rugby and cricket as the two I really don't like. Come on the Ravens (49ers will win).
Eggy - that predictions not looking too good at half time....
It's not, but there's a long way to go. They were 17 down against the Falcons and came through. Kaepernick needs to forget he's playing in a superbowl and relax and play his game or else it's over for the 49ers. Why couldn't he have bottled it against my beloved Packers.
