HS - not yet but that means its going to be really bad this year.

Eggy - you're just having a cutback event.

YM - pack bubble wrap and apply liberally. Hangovers, yes. Sprains, strains & pulls - no

We've not even reached hot-cross bun season yet. I seem to remember last year the madness level increased with number of buns consumed.

Iain - I use a shake called "Muscle Milk" which is actually non-diary, lactose free. Chocolate flavour, 100 calories. I add one banana, some ice and blend it up until its a nice, thick milkshake consistancy.  Delicious.

One confession: sometimes I still attack the chocolate supply.....ok, more than sometimes

Dannirr - I'll look out for that sort of thing, cheers. And I simply can;t have a chocolate supply in the house - it wouldn't be safe!

A horse walks into a bar.

"Too late," says the bartender, "we're joking about the Pope now."

"He's right," sighs Richard III

I finished off my Christmas brandy butter on some hot cross buns. I think that makes me a heretic.

Wow! Snow! Deep, deep snow...and so near the sea... It looks lovely. Me 'n' the yaktraxs are off for a toddle down a track to leave some confusing prints..

Belated welcomes to the new people. And welcome back, Sarah

ATM - Enjoy your run in the snow. I'm going to attempt a short run tonight in the snow. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get pounded down to much so that it's easier to run on.

13/02/2013 at 08:24

ATM-Enjoy your run. I will get back to you, I am just trying to get some info on Science Festival.

Eggy - Hope you are feeling better.

More bl**dy gales here, ferries cancelled again!! At least the wind stops the frost although it is very very cold.

4 very slow miles this morning.

Hi Emma, Sarah.

Kaz - that picture's ace. You're v lucky.

Jack for pope - where's the petition? Although that pic of Dougal's ace. Can he be Deputy Pope?

Hopefully, I will see you on Sunday. I am hoping it won't cancelled (started to snow again this morning) and I go the right way this time (I ran nearly 14M last year).

There are definitely options I love Father Ted and since the Pope announcement - it's been a flood of pictures

I went out with hubby yesterday for a poodle around the town. He started to speed up because "he was cold"... so it was a rushed run home  averaging at 10.15 pace throughout.

How is everyone else getting on?

I liked the Ryan air advert yesterday

Advertising one way flights to Rome, with the headline "Mick's got a new job"

13/02/2013 at 11:48

10 miles today, 10 miles yesterday, following 8 on Friday and 8 on Saturday. Feel like the wheels are back on the wagon. 14 or so planned Friday unless my kneecaps or heels drop off.

Following on from the gait analysis discussion...

I found a thread started by a guy at Leeds Uni who's doing a dissertation on running biomechanics and is offering free gait analysis in return for people's help. Downside is you have to do 21km on a treadmill three times.

Finally managed to catch up with the thread. Had mid term exams which took most of my time. Studying to the exams with a toddler running around is not as easy as it used to be.

ATM which Yaktax do you have? I may need to get a pair myself as the roads here as more suitable for iceskating than running or even walking at the mo.

Talking gadgets I want garming 910. don't need it at all. So I'm trying to earn it. I pay myself ??1 for each km ran.
