Over 14,000 posts , some great advice , some very funny posts , some very random taper topics , some very very strange people , it's been a great build up to the race ,,, is it a race ? No it's a celebration of life

So is the general consensus that it is going to be cold enough to warrant base layer and gloves but bright enough to need sunglasses ?

Carl - Agree. There have been a few no-shows so feel free to pop along to P Papas tonight. I'm sure it'll be no issue.

Dave was running (with my wife) this morning and he might be able to tell us more about what to wear. Personally, I think the temperature is ideal for a marathon (although I am not sure about the wind) and I will be running with my running vest. It will cold while we wait for the start so I have brought with me old clothes that I am planning to drop at the start or shortly after.
MM - my target is sub 2:45 but I am not sure I can do it. I will tell you tomorrow afternoon.

Well, that was very easy. Very fast bib pickup - much better than last year.
Impressive

ATM - good Chagall exhibit. Hour long wait to get in bless you have already purchased tickets. Some iconic pieces.

Dumb question alert!

Where is the baggage drop off tomorrow? Is there one for each pen? Or is it up by the Arc? Or somewhere else entirely?!

Also, which is the nearest metro station to the start?

Thanks!

Metro: Charles de Gaulle Etoile

Bag drop: Number-based baggage drop system, on Avenue Foch, get there relatively early as it's a bit hectic.

Dannirr, MM, Eggy - I may be a few mins late as just awaiting the arrival of TD, then popping over to the Arc. Sorry!

DV - please don't do that! Heart attack!!!! You mentioned 'socks' on a list, I thought it was to confuse me but just realised we can use them as gloves and throw them away during the race. Probably a coincidence, you wanted to confuse us.

Realised that my hotel was adjacent Line 12 so have stopped off to get rid of the luggage. Good planning is what I put this down to.

About to head to the Expo.

Hey ! Is it ok to come along for the pasta? Or is it prebooked?

Hi All!  Just wanted to wish everyone good luck from Chicago!  I have some fantastic memories from running the Paris Marathon last year and getting to know some of you.  The support from this forum was excellent.  Happy running to all!  I'll be thinking of you.
