That would be the young strapping lad who collapsed in tears in front of us would it?  Only to be attended to bt DLR and JB...poor wee soul.

The 60 minutes thing really is a huge time to break...my 10k time has slid down almost without noticing it since I managed that, but getting there was blody hard work!

Orbutt - you beat my PB you bugger

I'm afraid I also participated in massaging of his thighs. He was pretty cute! Albeit about 15 years younger than me...

ha ha  - i remember you and Radar Sal were blatently shouting support at all the handsome boys at mile 11!

Well, getting to meet the Ladies' Winner was cool...

Is that 'Ladies' Winner' in the sense of 'ran the fastest time' or 'snagged Eggy'?

Well done Alexander, Orbutt and Jimbob on the PBs and anyone else who was out there racing today (Keyser Suze?). Also MM on beating the 60 min barrier - it's all in the mind, you know.

I've sorted out my plan for the Ladybower 35 today. The good news is that my peak mileage week coincides with ITLR, and my longest run with the IoM marathon (might need to add a bit on to that one). The bad news is that I'm supposed to be doing 35 miles a week next week, which is some way off what I've been doing over the past few weeks. . Might work up to that gradually.

Just for you DV - Ethiopian speciality. Don't know what it was called, but it was grilled strips of beef served up in a pot with charcoal underneath, and sprinkled with onion and chillis. And it was just fabulous.

Well done to everyone running this weekend. Sounds like PBs falling all over the place.

RR - Great trip report. Sounds amazing.

I had a great time at Dunlop today. It was great as always to catch up with ATM and Audrey and I was really happy with my time of 49:01. Only two minutes off my PB on a hilly 10km route with no speed training at all for months! Plus you can't argue with a free cake and a cup of tea for finishers.

Getting to go with the first female finisher and carry the basket of goodies she won was a big bonus. That's about as close to first place in any race as I'm likely to get!

You went with the female finisher's basket of goodies as well as the female finisher?? Goodness me, that's a lot of energy after knocking out a 10k....

19/05/2013 at 22:06

Well done you lot - stack of PBs there. You all been bitten by radioactive gazelles or something?

Orbutt - Calf feel okay tonight?

TD - great news.

19/05/2013 at 22:10

Yer Maj - sorry about the PB. You've still got me battered on the big one though

Weedy - calf was great, thanks. Had some phantom twinges waiting to start but I always seem to get them. The mind is a curious thing.

You're on th Sub 4 or Die team for next year, right?

Maus - The magic hands certainly got that lad moving again.  The previously immobile young lass who stopped by us got moving pretty sharpish as soon as I started warming my hands...

Simon - I had a cold bath after today's 22km.  Definite walnut whip territory.

Crowbarred myself  into  photos with the Ladies' Winner, today...First time I've felt like a groupie. The cakes were lush. 49? That's fab,E. The course is seriously hilly...

After having to have a very early night last night( 10pm after sleeping on sofa), KOC was easy this morning. Run started of lovely then the fog came down and I could hardly see 100m in front of me, but 7 miles D&D and legs feeling sooooo much better for it!

Eggy - Well done on all accounts!!

Weedy - forgot to reply yesterday, soory. I don't know much about whats happening with the car?? As BF put it 'the evil witch has taken over'!! Apparently she ain't too happy about it!

20/05/2013 at 07:19

Kaz - maybe she could lend you a broomstick

Back to work today - hmmm, I could quite get to like this holiday thing. But today is the first day of my next running plan, and it's a day off. Strange how comforting it feels to be back to 'normal' - a nice spreadsheet all plotted out with my running for the next 16 weeks. Make of that what you will, psychologists.

20/05/2013 at 07:32

OCD ?!

20/05/2013 at 07:34

There's nothing like a nice list schedule RR. Iif it weren't for those I'm pretty sure my life would slip into inertia. And I wouldn't be able to indulge in my notebook obsession anywhere near as much! In fact, you've inspired me to rewrite my running schedule at lunchtime.

Congrats to all the good running this weekend. I feel like a tortoise in comparison!
