Douglas Maus, however, as far as we!re aware, is single.
Today's task is to find a camping mat. On a Sunday. In Bratislava. Unless it turns out I'm too knackered at the end of the day to care what I'm sleeping on, in which case I won't need one.
TD.. what's the plan for the run..? How will the task be distributed between the 15 runners..?
Best of luck with it.. sounds epic
Very Jealous, and not just of ITLR but of anyone running at the moment...........its only day 3 but I am not handling this very well! Indication of how ill I am - I have just woke up!
Good luck ITLR and the anyone racing!
sorry to hear this kaz... but rest is good. You need it. Take it easy today... ((hugs))
RR Douglas Maus is single and I hear he's quite a catch!
Just had a ruddy marvelous 32k run. Pacing exactly where I wanted it and nothing fell off. There are not one but two 10k races in the west end today, I ended up running the last 10k of my run on the entire British 10k Run course. I was slightly ahead of time so didn't end up getting passed by the Kenyans. All the cheer points and crowds were in place so it was quite amusing, some people thought I was winning the race, I had the course to myself and finished a few minutes before the elites came steaming through. The crowds helped me get through the difficult last few miles in the heat!
Jimbob - only you....
YM, I didn't run through the winners tape mind, that would have been a liberty, the stewards looked nervous as I approached the line so I just veered off to the side!
Oo-er! One of the movie quizzes that I know for once! National Lampoons. I hope I will hear the refrain of "Holiday Road" by Lindsay Buckingham from Eastern Europe!
I may attempt running this afternoon. If this serious case of CBA ever decides to leave me alone. And I don't faint again.
JImbob.. that's brilliant
Went out today to run 25k and all was going reasonably well until about 6k when my calf tightened. I stopped and gave it a bit of a stretch and then decided to walk for a bit to see how it felt - ping.
Mrs O went home to get the car and I hobbled for a bit until she picked me up.
So, no running for at least a week - maybe more. Great preparation for Berlin.
Could be worse.
Yay, point to MM.
DV, Jimbob - congrats on the runs.
You'll all be pleased to hear they eat cake for breakfast in Bratislava
Good to see the first choice 11 are settling in well in Bratislava. They'll put the game beyond doubt before a couple of late substitutions on friday when there's no risk.
Orbutt -ping might not be too bad. I had a very similar thing once and thought I'd be out for ages. Six days later I ran a hilly 10 mile race.
35k done for me today. Easier than last week and average pace finished precisely where I wanted it but the heat was tough so, again, number of stops needed.
Good luck to the ITLR guys, fantastic stuff. Mad, but fantastic.
I've been in hiding as constant knee trouble means I hadn't been out in weeks, but managed a broken 6km today without feeling any pain. Still going to the physio on Tuesday, but the 10km I'm down for next Saturday is going to be hard work! Hay fever adds an extra fun layer to running in this heat.
LA - Your 10k a couple of weeks ago gives me hope, well done.
Cracking run, DLR. Can't imagine those kind of distances when it's so warm.
Fantastic News from the Island Games in Bermuda - Orkneys own, Bobby Oag, won gold in the triathalon!!!
Good luck to all the ITLR team and well done TD for getting it organised. Keep us posted on progress please.
Loch Lomond Tri was fantastic - beautiful location, scorching temperatures and blue skies. Best of all was seeing BCRC members, and they really gave me some raucous support. Finished in 1 hour 13 minutes- pleased with that as it was a very tough course. And I lost some time when I came off my bike in a field full of mud that had been baked into ruts that caught quite a few cyclists out. The view across the loch from the top of the (very steep) hill was spectacular, and just reward for the gruelling climb. And the OW swim was great fun - not sure why I was so worried!
