Preston half marathon

Hi,

I'm thinking about tackling this as my first half. I recently ran 10k, and should have plenty of time to train from August, so I'm sure I'll complete it.

However, I am slow and no matter how much i train I will still be slow. I can run 10k in 77 mins, so I'm guessing about 2:45 for a half.

Is anyone else on here planning to run this race? Does anyone know if there is likely to be a spread of ability of if I'll be running 12 miles on my own? I don't mind being at the back of the pack, but it would be nice if there were others back there with me.

thanks

Jane

My wife is planning on doing it whilst I do the `full`. She recently did the Sheffield HM (her second) and finished in 2.20 so I reckon there`ll be a good mix.

Im doing it (i think, it is in Oct and the 1st one in years isnt it?)

Looking forward to it having had a lazy year event wise so far.....I planned to do about 6 halfs and a couplke of 10k's but had man flu twice ealy in the year and have only managed the one half so far (reading) but i have the GNR in Sept and the Preston half in Oct booked in.

Bring it on... (give me a couple more months of training 1st thou)

Great, see you there.

Last weekend of October if I remember correctly. The Preson Guild is every 20 years, so I'm guessing that's whaen the last race was too.
