Wrinty-Hows the injury going.

Mr Postie delivered a nice tech T-shirt today, race pack having arrived last week. Pretty decent - and quite unique apart from 7999 others!

iplod-probably a lot less than 7999 as I'm sure not everyone would want a t-shirt. I didn't order one as on my way to getting several free ones and thought the bath one was expensive.

Z - good point!
Is it possible to have too many t-shirts though? Having only started running races last year, I've had two freebies that have both been cotton ones and great mementos of enjoyable events. On the other hand, technical ones breathe better, keep their shape and don't seem to fade.
Pays yer money, takes yer choice!

Hope everyone's training is on track - less than 4 weeks to go!

Who's up for a crack at keeping 6:30 m/m going for as long as possible? (1:25:09).

Remember it's a downhill start, so you'll get a leg up on your tergat, sorry, target.

LLL - you'll be p@ssed by the time I get home !!

Ah yes I remember the down hill start....

...i must have accelerated to 10 minute miling there last year. who knows might go even faster this year!

Only four weeks - eek, looking forward to it though as a nice long weekend break as much as anything else....with a half marathon thrown in for good measure!

6.30 m/m - good luck with that! I'm hoping for 1hr 40min, but this works out as something totally unmemorable like 7.38 m/m.

I need the four weeks to practise my 7.38 times table.

I can do 6:30 mins per half-mile...

Still done no training but I'm off to Lanzarote with the running club next week - that'll kick-start the training... 0-13.1 miles in 1 week!

22/02/2005 at 13:45
oh you've got yout timing right there!

Bring us back some warm weather!
22/02/2005 at 14:00
Snail-thanks for throwing a bit of reality in there. LOL! I was just thinking I will be doing 5min half miles;-)

My training going well. Another long run on sunday which I thought I had clocked at 14miles but was actually 13.75m. At least it's more than the required distance (maybe not allowing for jog to nearest pub!)

There seeems to be a lot of injury about on this thread! Just started to get back into training after 3 and a half weeks out with a tear in my quads. Was hoping for a 1:40, but anywhere under 2 hours would be nice now.

What's the parking like for this event? Will it be a nightmare?!!!
22/02/2005 at 17:04
Parking in Bath is a nightmare on your average weekend, so it'll be even worse on race day. I hear that the park and ride services are still in operation on the day though. Might be wise to park in one of these on the outskirts of the city.

LLL, Thanks for reminding me that I have not run a step for over two weeks. My hamstring has responded OK to treatment and can probably be run upon, however my toes are feeling really sore - even when walking and I am even starting to doubt whether I will make it to the Bath Half.

Regards Wrinty :-(

Wrinty.
Sorry to hear your still struggling, this thread is injury prone!. Are we all still meeting for a pint after? if so where. Still suffering with sciatica myself, managed to crawl around 10 miles last Sunday, so frustrating. I think Bath might just be a sight seeing trip unless miracles happen. Somebody please cheer me up!.

Oh dear chin up everyone. Really sorry to hear everyone is struggling a bit. I think its that injury time of year.

ON a positive note we do need to make a bar decision - I think the choices were Lambrettas or the Star. I'd vote for whatever's nearest....Our hotel has a bar and its right opposite the station??!!

...but that would be selfish and wrong of me!

Are there any fitness centres near so we can use the showers. I don't fancy driving back freezing cold! Oh and does anyone know how far away the park and ride is?
25/02/2005 at 15:52
There is a fitness centre right next door to the start but I think they were charging people to go in last year.
