robin hood marathon - Events

I have entered the robin hood marathon and want to drive up on the saturday and stay somewhere overnight before the race. Has anyone got any details of b+b or campsite near the race in nottingham area.

There's a campsite out near the watersports centre that i've used before. I think it's about 20 minutes drive from the start as it's on the other side of town.

I stayed at the Thortons Holt campsite two years ago. About 6 miles from
Nottingham in nice countryside and a lovely thatched pub across the road.
I camped for 3 nights and explored Nottingham, which, to my suprise , had
a lot of interesting things to see.

Thanks for the info on places to stay in the nottingham area. really up for race as i had to pull out of london due to injury. hope to meet other mad marathon runners like myself over the weekend of the race.....

There is a campsite at Holme Pierrepont which is large and well equipped. There's a cafe/bar at the watersports centre over the road. It's at about 21 miles on the marathon course and about 2 miles from the start/finish area. Good luck!
