Mrs DD has just been advised by her physio that she shouldn't run this Sunday and so is wanting to transfer her number for this race.

What i'm wanting to know though is if there is somebody out there that is wanting to take part in this race.

If so, seeing as there are only 2 days to go, can anybody advise on the best course of action to take so that the transfer can take place in time.

Well done to all involved today. The organisation seemed fine to me. I got a PB and the weather was nice - what more could a man want? Apart from a photo that is - the photos on the web picked up the person who finished before me and after me but I wasn't in ... sniff.

The photos are on www.taimages.com and the results are on www.ukresults.net.

As one of the 'Car Park Attendants', may I take this opportunity to thank all the runners for their pleasant courtesy while we were doing a difficult job. To explain, we have to 'segregate' the car park to allow users of the Sports Centre access. This has meant that we had to use the back of the Sports Centre and whatever available space there was. We had arranged alternative parking at the start at the local school and, while this may not have been 100% popular, it relieved a lot of pressure on the Sports Centre.

It is with regret that I do have to report back instances of bad temper to our marshalls but primarily it was from the non-runners (i.e Sports Centre users)!!!!!

If there any comments (good or bad) please let me know. All we want it to make the race a well organised event and to keep it going for the future. I hope you all had a good day, a good run and enjoyed the sunshine!

I think you gave me my goody bag at the end Roz but its hard to tell post race state.
I too managed a pb on my first run at Rothwell. Tricky course to judge with the fast firt 5k and then an 'undulating' second half.
Overall an exellent race well staged the longest funnel I've ever seen!

Thanks Roz for that.

I found the event very enjoyable and it was very well marshalled considering the layout of the course and the traffic situations.

This was my first 10k so it was a very pleasant introduction to my running career and hopefully it should be a memorable one.

Thanks to everyone involved on the day.

The weather was uncannily like last years, how do you do it? Talk about good organisation. Thank you Rothwell Harriers for a great event, a P.B. and two minutes off last years time, Oh joy!

My first 10k too(first race of any kind actually).

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and came in under 50 mins. But was it just me, or were the km markers further apart in the 2nd half?

The only disappointment was my sprint finish being too quick for the photographer!

I'll be back next year.

We've booked the same weather for next year!

The Km markers were just the same throughout!!! Perhaps it was cos you were tired and wanted the race over with by then???

I think it was just wishful thinking on my part Roz!

Thanks again for a great introduction to racing.

Belated thanks to the Rothwell Harriers for organising this. The only negative I would add was the attitude of a handful of drivers.

Pre-race, somebody was driving up by the school honking their horn to get folks warming up out of the way. Then in the race, some folks driving up the A639 were getting much too close to runners and again, honking to get us out of the way.

Not the fault of the Harriers at all. I guess this happens all the time when a race is run on roads. Some drivers seem completely lacking in patience. A couple of minutes delay then they'll be on their way. Is it really so hard to wait?

Thanks very much to everyone who helped organise the race. I parked at the school thanks to the friendly attendant who found me a great spot (I had to leave early to get to Wetherby races!), and I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for those who marshalled on the course.

Sadly I was far too excited at the start, running the first half of the race too quickly (20.00) and paying the penalty. I finished in 43.46, annoyed that I'd not come closer to a PB (41.420). Still, that's made me all the more determined to come back next year!

Thanks to all at Rothwell once again!

My first 10k entry. Just retired from playing footy due to injury. I thought I'd give running a go. Great race organisation, top weather, and a decent time ( I think so!)
Wish I hadn't run home afterwards though! Must have been the adrenalin..
