Sunday 9th April 2006
Absolute scorcher in the Cotswolds today and not the day to run a hilly off road marathon. Very pleasant though, 3 loops and great views from the tops. Marathon 134 in the bag
Extra well done for today Paul. I've heard it was very hot down south! I hope you're rehydrating properly?
Not that it wasn't here. I've had an exercise free weeK. I eventually got motivation to write the course I'm teaching tomorrow! It's taken longer than it should as I've been working in the garden. I can barely see the laptop screen but I'm not wasting this sunshine.
Full day teaching inside tomorrow
Quiet few days on here. Long day for me on sunday but I've started my new fitness regime to try to finally get rid of those holiday pounds that seem to be sticking a bit!
2.5 miles done first thing yesterday morning, followed by Pilates in the garden. Then about 7.5 miles done today. I doing a reccy of our charity walk route from work. 2.6 miles to the cafe stop then back a different way. The way was much nicer, through fields rather than housing estate so I think I'll do it as an out and back. I'd got a lift in this morning with E, and didn't think the whole thing through so after that run I had to run home too. 7.5 miles is quite a long way when you've been doing no running and it's 25 degrees!
Good stuff phys..............we'll make a runner out of you yet.
Nice 9.25 miles tonight for me
Short cycle commute today. Just trying to keep the daily exercise up, even if its just a little bit!
Fun 10.2 miler tonight
Hot track session tonight, 9 more miles for the log.
Tis actually a bit cooler this morning with a nice E'ly breeze - 7.5 hilly miles all done
My single handed keep the thread mileage total campaign carries on......another 13.2 this morning.
Evening. Sorry Paul. We had an impromptu trip to the Lakes this weekend to make the most of the weather. I would normally have used my phone to keep you updated on my biking miles but we had a car crisis so my phone battery was precious!
We now have one car in Kendal being repaired but us now home after E did a mid-weekend trip back for mine. Luckily we had a friend coming up for the day to meet us for a ride so he could get a lift, then drive back to get me and the bikes!
Complicated but none of it got in the way of 2 days brilliant off road biking. I thought it would be busy but away from the lakeside it was deserted
I hope you're not melting running in the heat down there. Its been overcast and cooler here, perfect for my cycle commute.
Run home planned tomorrow. The lack of one car might lead to a good fitness week for me! Plan is to ride to Kendal for the car next weekend....
2.6 mini run home done. Avoiding rain showers which was difficult today! Its very muggy though. I showered but have still not cooled down.
Plan is another Charity walk reccy run tomorrow..
Bit cooler here and no thunderstorms as yet. Nice hilly and fast 10 miler done with the club
Well done Paul. 6 mile run/walk done today. The full route length would be 7.3 miles, which would be perfect but part of the route was so overgrown it was nearly impassable, hence the walking. I am now covered in nettle stings and bramble scratches! I think I might need to re-think the route, or ring the correct council department to see if the footpath is due a bit of maintenance before September.
Nice early 9 miler followed by fish and chips tonight
Ooh fish 'n' chips
12 hour work day for me, no exercise, but healthy seafood risotto with fresh peas from the garden.
Good track session with mrs a tonight. So good that mrs a has been called up to the ladies 5k team next week.
10.2 miles this morning, much cooler and humid.........the rain is coming.
Evening, just back from collecting the car from Kendal. 80 miles cycling, including lots of hills, as we stayed off the main roads. It's not cooler here yet, 25 degrees and sunny most of the day
Been raining heavily now for about 3 hours, much needed.
