13.April - Fast, flat and PB potential
Thanks! Glad someone had started this thread - looks like only a few from UK so far I'm aiming for 3:45. How my training goes will decide if I enjoy it! Haha!
At this stage it looks like I'll be flying to Amsterdam and then train to Rotterdam. Thinking we might have a few nights in the dam after the mara. Well earned then
Training is going well so far. Although I'm running faster than my plan calls for - I think Santa is bringing me a Garmin for Christmas, so that should help!
Where abouts do you two live?
I know a few people that are coming from a friends group (we're all a bunch of crazy multi marathoners). 3.45 sounds like a similar aim for me. I'm going to see how i get on in Paris two weeks before and then either relax and enjoy Rotterdam or push for a PB.
What training plan are you following? I loosely follow P&D for my weekly training runs and have found it to be hard going but the results have been good!
I'm living in Belgium so its easy for me to drive and I currently work on a project just outside of Rotterdam so have been recc-ing the route and likely places to stay/train! So far the biggest issues ive found have been windchill/wind. It's quite open and through some of the high rise buildings it can cause a wind tunnel to form.
ooh - which garmin are you looking at getting for christmas? I put a 610 on my list as my trusty 305 is starting to die a slow death. I'm not sure if its the winter temperatures or the atmosphere but its not picking up satellites for over 10 minutes despite resetting them.
