Thanks Drew...
Found my envelope the championchip came in and number was on there....

Have to agree on goody bag, but t shirts were good - cant understand who would like a medal, what do you do with them? I got loads in a draw - with a tshirt you can run in it - decorate - clean car etc... with a medal you can ............................................................................................ look at it ....................................................errrr........................................

would have liked more food in goody bag - maybe a sports drink... or some jelly babies??

Anyway, will be back next year as I love sheffield.

Medals are permanent though Badger - nearly 20 years since my first event and I've still go the medal long since the "t" shirt disintegrated. What will we have to show our grandchildren and to remind ourselves of past glories when we're older and even more knackered??

Also it's a shame because for many years until this year the Sheffield medal was one of the best you could get - and you could still get a t shirt if you wanted one.

That aside I thought this year's was the worst organised for at least the past 8 years. But no doubt will continue to do it as it is my local event.

I prefer medals - I don't wear the free t-shirts.

I train in "technical" running kit, which is designed specifically for the purpose. Can't understand why anyone would ever train in one of the free t-shirts you get at events.

The t-shirts are hardly fashionable so it's not like you could wear them at any other time.

Any t-shirts I get at events are destined to rot at the bottom of my wardrobe. I'd much rather receive a medal.

I agree that medals are better - I mean yeah wear the t-shirt once out so people who may have sponsored you can see it - then what do you do with it?

I like the medal I got at the Lincoln 10km my first race - something to treasure....I can see the t-shirts ending up in the bin or the charity shop after a few washes to be honest, I would never wear them to train in and never wear them to go out in.

Just my two-penneth!

Dynamick :)
