Only seven weeks to go before this year's Shinfield 10k. 29th running of this popular race.
This year for the first time Chip-Timing and a club team competition, as well as completely new
Also enjoy the traditional May Day Fete.
I've done this one a few times. Always a pleasant little jaunt.
If it's not top secret, can you say what the memento is?
Possibly in for this as it's cheap and extremely local.
Is it UKA'd this year - i.e. will my result appear on PO10?
Hmm, I might venture ove if you will be there Cat. Do they still have the fair? Is it still the candidate for the worst ever portaloo?
Always used to be a bit short? Coz I ain't that quick.
Signed up after a few years absence from this race, only going to meet up with Cat5 again. LOL. I might see him as he goes into hyperspace after 3 yards.
Good for kids as a fair there too. Soooo, running club colours, tri club colours or piracy?
I'm doing it - looking forward to it - not too many hills and a great atmosphere. I wore my club colours last year but was the only one there. There will be two of us this year so may wear my Hart RR t-shirt.
For anyone that would like to enter in advance of the race, online entries close this evening! there will also be entries on the day until the race limit has been reached.
We would like to hit 600 entries tonight before online entry closes, So please have a think about entering this evening or on the day:
"A springtime 10Km through the country lanes of Shinfield, Ryeish Green and Spencers Wood with a May Day Fete"
"Early 10K out of the way by half ten and a place to dump the missus and the kids where they won't moan at you coz they been eating burgers and sweets and stuff and going on rides and slides. Pub after."
I might debut my Pirate headsweat, or maybe even the baseball cap.
Entered this and may even cycle thier in some yellow and black kit!!
Going for local club kit, saving the yellow and black for another weeks time for some proper warm weather.
Top morning out, met ITB and gently took proverbial Michael out of Cat5.
Very pleased with 52. something time. Nice course, they have sorted the loo problems, fayre was smaller I think than it used to be, cheeseburgers were too pricey, parking idea works well. Well & cheerily marshalled, this is now a real good'un.
Fast and flattish, good terrain, bit of bark chip pathway near the end. I'll come back.
Appreciate your positive comments, Dustboy, Glad you enjoyed the race, and hope to see you back again next year.
