And I thought it was only me- Hey, if your fast legs reached the luxurious shower block at least an hour before me, why didn't you get them to open up the blinking doors!

But seriously, the whole damn thing would have collapsed if the door was opened! I thought I must have gone to the wrong Llanberis football ground changing rooms.

Anyone know what went awry re showers? Was a small blot on a great event. Had to get naked in the car park, bachgyn drwg!

Photos still not up.

Bless you BT! You must have caught your death. I hope you're taking something for it.  I think I know what you mean though. It was mighty cold in that wind and rain, standing still and changing instead of keeping warm through running.

As far as the showers went, I didn't even bother to look for them - too much hassle. Glad I didn't bother now. Call me stench if you like but you'd be wrong. Don't tell anyone but it was a good 24 hours before my late bath. I was far too tired by the time I got home. The rain kept us clean anyway.

BritNick is right about the natural shower all the way round (Power Shower!!)- it's the first time I've had to stop and wring out my socks! Felt like I had buckets on the end of me legs (maybe Gortex shoes weren't such a good idea afterall- didn't let water out??).

I too made it to Sunday before getting a bath, and maintain that I smelled fresh as a daisy... just don't ask the missus!

Miraculously in all that water, no blisters- I'd rolled some anti-chaffing stuff used in triathlon to stop wetsuit-neck oto my feet [not to mention other places!]: worked a treat

Message to Blox Head- I'm a BRAT (www.bratclub.co.uk runs on Mon and Sat from Cannon Hill Park and Wed from Bham Uni Guild building/track), about 70 BRATs did the Bham half day after Marathon Yryri

Anyone looked at the S4C coverage?- all yn Cymraeg, orth gwrs- no subtitles, but just look at that horizontal rain and trees bent double!

brilliant - just looking through the photos - I've never seen pictures of so many people falling over
31/10/2008 at 13:03

luna  - how do you browse general photos? I only seem to be able to see mine.

 £10+ for a 5x7 photo, no chance Mr Marathon-Foto

Once you're on the page of your own photos - check top right, there's a link to Lost and Found, then choose View Male Runners | View Female Runners | View Naked Runners etc etc I like the View Runners Falling Over section best.

There's a lot of them, so be prepared. I actually rang up MarathonFoto cos it was confusing finding out how much you pay to download them. £25 EACH - no way! Lovely lady at the end of the phone though.

£25 each!!!!! She would have to be nice!

Someone got a url so you could download your photos for free for the FLM shots, proper photos not the thumbnails, not that I took advantage of it as I'm not sure if it's illegal, they kept closing it but people came up with other ways round it.

Is there anyone in this thread that is an IT boffin, purely out of interest of course if they could find a way I would like to know, not that I can find any of me as I had my number covered up most of the time and after page 50 I got bored of looking

LM I share your view of the runners falling over section there was one of a bloke who looked like he was on his back sunbathing, made me chuckle

Hmphf, I found one of Mr BL   (my arm visible at the edge) but none of me!  What further proof do I need that I must have looked pretty bad on the day, various shades of red and blue (my skin, not my kit)

Page 19 of the fellas 'lost and found' has a guy doing some impressive star-jumps on the mountain-side

Is there a specific link for 'fallen over', or do you just have to trawl thru the whole lot?

Very wet camera lens- methinks they should give the pics to us for free

I agree BT. Free downloads of blurred pictures, that's what we want!

Considering the number of photographers I passed I'm amazed at how few pictures have actually appeared.

There isn't a falling over section is there, TS? They're just in the lost and found section?

No, but there should be

What do you think this was about?   I was chatting to my big sis last night.  On the day her and her husband came to cheer us all on, she was at Beddgelert when we went through then the pair of them went back to their car and  had something to eat & drove back the way we had run to wait for us in Llanberis.  She said on the hill down from Nant Peris they passed a man running, she said he was very distinctive, his appearance, his running style and what he was wearing and at this point it was about 45 mins since she had seen us.     Sis waited and waited for us in Llanberis and was a little surprised when this same runner came through the finish about an hour before we did.   From her description neither me or Mr BL think he overtook us in the second half of the race.  I'm going to re examine the photos to see if I can see him being blown through the skies.

Not that it matters.

It does matter!  Sounds to me like he had some mechanical assistance perhaps...?

Boing - SURPRISE! This old thread refuses to die.

I felt compelled to reply to the official photographer's final deadline reminder, received last week, with comments that might strike a chord with other runners. I hope I didn't upset anyone in the process but I just had to let them know the strong thoughts of at least one runner, even though it'll probably make no difference. (Message pasted below.)

Dear MarathonFoto, Thank you for your email, which I received on the same day I received the postal notification. It doesn't give much time to consider options. Having said that, at the prices you charge, I suspect your sales will be much lower than they should be. If you were to halve your prices you would probably double your income. £41.85 for four 5x7 prints is scandalously dear. I didn't think Pound Sterling was that weak. As in previous years, at those prices I shall not be making a purchase. I look forward to your prices being more realistic next year. If they are, you will get an order from me and, I guess from very many other runners.

BritNick

Shocking prices. I doubt if he has sold any at all!!! The greed of people these days.

If I had been on Dinas as promised with my camera I would have posted sent you your photos free of charge.

Hopefully I will be running next year so I will need a good friend to take photos of me, free of charge!!!
