After the race I said to myself I wasn't going to do this again, as I had done it twice and I wanted to try some different mara's, but come December my entry will be in

I'm in, pulled out this year due to injury watched it in the cold rain full of jealousy what a great run by everyone,  O yes i'm still bitter

Thanks FR, good to see a new thread up and running. Will do Beachy Head some time but reckon this one will be no. 5 in a row.

Hello everybody peeps. If I can quote myself from Saturday "never again", "not for a few years" "I've put this one to bed for now" . How am I going to wriggle out of that come 1st Dec??!

Hello lads and maybe some lasses I also said never again after saturday but I love the camaraderie of this race so I will be in again in December.

Now how do I convince my other half that I really did not mean it when I said only one marathon?

RB I said the same thing over 10 years ago so they will come to understand that once you get the bug that's it

Good news - a brand new SNOD thread. I'm definitely in (see below)

RB - I had the same problem this year when I decided I wanted to run SNOD until at least 2010 because that way I get a set of 4 coasters. The resistance has waned a lot, so I'm guessing that worked. I'm now working out when to say that I now want a set of 6......

Hmm .. .so much for  "am never doing that again"

I'm hoping to do it with suncream on

Run Jono,

Thanks for the reply to my question on the snowdonia 2008 thread, (note the spelling ha ha)

All the best with your marathon in France and hopefully will see you at Marathon Eryri 2009.

Hi guys, came so close to walking back to the car as I was chilled to the bone waiting for the bus... so glad I didn't, enjoyed it much more than my first marathon in Anglesey last month (technically my 2nd as I did Prague in 2005 but collapsed with heat exhaustion and didn't run for 2 years so I'm trying to forget it).

The 2008 race was just fantastic once we got started, felt so grateful to supporters and marshalls, can't wait to sign up again, I mean one coaster just looks odd...

Only problem is now I've seen what marathons can be, not sure I want to bother with run of the mill city runs for next year- anyone got any ideas for other great marathons/ultras (if I'm not being too ambitious)?!

Fellrunner,

The training location is second to none, it's just getting off may arse to do it that's the problem. But, I think the buzz that I had just reading and joining in the 2008 thread should be enough to motivate me. I felt that I was intruding at times as I was about the only one contribuiting to the forum who actually wasn't running!!!

Just popped on here to see if anyone could figure out if there were subtitles on that last night's showing on S4C abou the snowdon marathon (sky+ it) - and then saw the link  for the cape wrath challenge. That does look intersting, has anyone (from this thread ) done it?

Decisions. SNOD or Beachy.

May be worth an effort if enough people e-mail RO Jayne and ask if SNOD could go back to the sunday. Miss seeing the triple runners at SNOD.

Not sure they would as SNOD 08 was a sell out, but worth a go.

33 % of those who had signed up for SNOD 08 didn't turn up, a staggeringly high amount.

SNOD09 -  - Joe you know you want to

I prefer it on a Saturday, getting out for a few recovery beers without having to worry about work, lazy Sunday and the Large coffee and breakfast with chips at Pete's eats....mmmmmmmmmmmm

FR, I agree with you about the weather. I bet loads saw the forecast and decided not to bother.

It's a shame about the triple being scuppered by the change to Saturday, but apart from that I think Saturday wins hands down over Sunday. (My first SNOD was the last Sunday event and I definitely prefer the Saturday.) Looking forward to next year already.
