ffRAN great writing, you were way ahead of me. I hit 13.1 at 2:04. My SIS gels (some with caffeine) and jelly babies plan worked well enough, unlike one of my legs! To me it also feels like once a year just ain't enough, it's a stunner. Been coming to Snowdonia for 40 years this year, this was by far my most enjoyable weekend.

Anyone done the Sleepwalkers run at Talybont, liking the look of it...

Brilliant account ffRAN, love it. It's good when a plan comes together.

Wow. Some great times and reports. Just back from Llanberis and catching up. Amazed how fast you were MM61 and TR40 with so little training, and fabulous result Chrissi. JB and JD I caould only dream of gaoing so fast.... and sorry you missed it TRex and hope things sort themselves out ok.

I had a fabulous run and loved every minute of it, even Bwlch-y-Groes. Didn't only finally get my sub-4, but managed 3hrs 43, only just over 3 mins outside my PB. I put it down to the gorgeous views distracting me from the pain. Wonderful

Megalilly- why did you have to mention that race?
And why did I have to Google it?
Sounds interesting....

Great report ffRan, really sounds like you enjoyed!

........I absolutely, bloody love that descent, - when you get to the tarmac, and just know you couldn't stop, it reminds me of being a child!

ffRan....you have so nailed the feeling I had running down that hill.  It is bringing a smile to my face just thinking about it.  Infact I'm sure I declared at one point the up hill pain was worth it just for this!

Considering how pap I felt pretty much all the way around the fact I am even contemplating next year I'm sure is because the last 2 miles were utter joy!

Thanks JEdwards & TREX for mentioning wheeled support... I'm gonna email the organizers to see if they can expand on this in the race rules. At the moment they say:

  • No aids, such as roller-skates, baby joggers, in line blades, nordic sticks, cycles or other non-official wheeled vehicles are permitted on the course.

Still grinning though!!

Ffran - great report and i completely agree with you and Fiona about the last descent i had the biggest stupidest grin on my face the whole way down it

MC - great result

Trying to decide now when to try my first run - a brisk flat 2.5mile dog walk last night and nothing hurt but legs quite tight feeling by end - may give it until Sunday and go for a forest bimble then starting to feel lazy though

Just popped out for a 4m loosener along the Taff. Only some parts loosened, others still firmly knotted, like both knees... hmm...
