I'm hoping to do the Tewkesbury Half-Marathon (my home town) 4 days after this race. I've never done a half-marathon before so is this race too much too close to Tewkesbury?

Yes, it's toomuch too close - you need to taper the week before your half, esp. if it's your first. Take it easy!
