12TH JULY 2005
here we go again
Did we expect so much snow again? Got quite a bit even by the sea and its still snowing.
Good luck to your son Seren.
Sue, do whatever is safest. Don't sit in the cold.
I will walk to work. My car is hopeless in this weather and the estate where I live is awkward to get out of.
Stay safe and warm all.
I decided to take the sensible option and stay at home. The chances of the spin instructor getting in was remote anyway. It's stopped snowing now, I ditched my run yesterday cos I was late leaving work. Try again today!
There is always the dreadmill option (again )
Managed to get out for a run last night which I'm pleased about now as it's not looking good for tonight. My kids' school and college closed but presumably my school is open so suppose I'd better have a go at getting there.
Kids are really dissapointed that we have not been affected by the snow (must be the only ones in the country?). School sent children home on bus routes near us, but ours stayed until the end of day as it stopped snowing in the afternoon. - They would love to be snowed in, however I think they may change their tune this afternoon.... good chance of heavier snow from 12, which will mean I can get out and get them, but quite possibly not get back up the smaller lanes. This then requires a nice 2 mile or so walk in the snow. Very nice it is too - did it a couple of years ago with all the Christmas shopping - don't think they will find it so amusing?
I'm home after something of a slow journey home. When I saw the snow settling, I suggested that the staff make their way home. I left at 4 ish and just got in!
I'm parked out on the main road again. Got shifted on by the pub owner and I've parked on the pavement near that nasty woman who gave me grief on Monday! It's a crazy world when no one is prepared to help out in these situations. I have to try to get to work tomorrow and probably have to get up into the Afan Valley if some of the nurses don't make it. If these people had relatives who needed home treatment maybe they would be more tolerant of those of us who need to be able to get out. I parked in my street last night thinking I would be fine and came down the hill sideways this morning. A slight exaggeration, but the car did skew a couple of times.
Sue ..hope you can get around today.......#
today at last the taxi can get here so i don't need to do a school run........swim and yoga here i come........
at the risk of sounding a 'snowbah humbug' type person. I could quite happily live the rest of my life out without seeing any more snow
the kind of 'this is a crisis so we must all help each other out and have fun while doing it' has deserted the uk along with all the other people who are jumping ship. Even the illegals have become disillusioned and are trying their luck elsewhere!
Sorry for the misery, normality will be resumed once I can have my normal routine back
Thought I had posted last night but it's not here.
Sue - it is a pain. Hang on in there, its only a temporary blip. You will soon be out running.
RK - hope work goes okay.
Seren - good luck to your son if he has more exams.
I graduate today so I am glad the snow isn't too bad today.
Sue - ugh, massive sympathies to you.Meanness of spirit is such an ugly thing in a human being. We are at our best when we are generous with our time and attentions, yet so few people seem able to make the effort.
Nutty.have a greta day today.........
youngest has an exam this morning and they both have their last one tomorrow afternoon
maybe we should celebrate friday but it is the running clubs presentation night.........hopefully
You have fun Nutty
Cheer up Sue, sunshine today... be back to flooding before we know it
I have runned , all is right with the world
great going Sue...i have run as well .I was like bambi on ice
Glad all is better with the world Sue. Its easy to get disillusioned on times. A run always helps
Its cold out there. Went out first thing this morning for a run along the beach and it was freezing!!
RK - the day went well thanks. The ceremony was excellent and great to catch up with fellow students and lecturers once again. Meal with family afterwards and then home for home made coffee cake!!
Can't sleep. Too much coffee and cake yesterday I think!
