Hi Emmy, hows it going?
Thanks for this, I'll have a look at the over forums as well. I notice it says the course is hilly, is it that bad?
I can't imagine kingston being particulary hilly, but I may be missing something.
I would like to enter the half marathon - do you have to enter by form or is there an online method of entry?
Janine, Yeah you can entre online, click the orange box at the top of this forum
Oh yeah!! Thank you sorry being dozy!
Janine don't worry we've all been there, and as I'm now mid 50's I seem to be going there regularly
If anyone has entered and can no longer attend, I am looking to pick up a place... Just gone online to enter and it's now full
jolly send me an email at email@example.com I will check with Dave but I am sure that we have a spare place.
Good afternoon all.
I found this event (Half Marathon) online and applied to it by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org ; on 30th May by filling out the form and sent to the organisers. However I never got a reply back and have also text messaged the contact for this email with no reply. Now it looks like the event is full. Does anyone know how you'd be able to find out if you've been added to the event?
Thank you for your help
Try e-mailing Hermes Running David is normally good at replying.
Munder Al this may help http://www.hermesrunning.com/pages_v4/TM_half_entrants.shtml
hi munder, which email address have you been using? these are the ones you need
Good luck to everyone doing the half on Saturday (this is a v. quiet forum despite the half being full!). I have dropped down to this event from the marathon following injuries... Happy days.
BBC Weather is currently forecasting rain on Saturday morning:
Even better for the marathon, sorry red you've had to drop down I'll probably be envious once I past halfway, anyway best of luck to you all!
Yeah has been quiet on here that's why I've been lurking on the full thread. I'm doing this as part of prep for my first full marathon at Chester in October.
Great Race ,even if I did do something bad to my achillies / calf 400 m from the end , looks like my Chester marathon attempt in October may have gone, have to see what physio says in the week.
Big thank you to the organisors & the marshalls who were great.
Suggestion for next year move the bl00dy hill
Does anyone know if this race counts on the run britian rankings , doesn't appear on thier list of races for today?
NellyP - yes that hill at the end was fairly arduous, bad enough for the half marathon, god knows what it was like for the marathon runners!
A pretty good event, the race website states the distance as 13.19 miles which is just over a half marathon distance, a few guys I spoke to in the changing rooms afterwards felt the course was longer than that though. Unfortunately my dinosaur Garmin was losing its signal regularly through the tree covered sections so was in no way accurate but nevertheless measured it long too.
The turnaround point for the half marathon was slightly chaotic as was the running onto oncoming marathon and half marathon runners. The rain was quite refreshing though!
What a great race, I enjoyed every minute of this!*
(*disclaimer - was using it as a very scenic training run rather than going for a time!)
Definitely toying with the idea of doing the full next year. Friendly atmosphere, amazing aid station provisions, and the course goes all over the places I used to love running in when I was living in SW London and I had a lovely run down memory lane! Thank you, race organisers and marshals.
