Fast if the weather is kind to us :-)
Hi all, I was very impressed with the standard today and how well the A & D team did, so I hope you don't mind if I list the official Ashford & District RRC result:
2 - 0:58:47 - Chris Valdus 3 - 0:59:38 - Gordon Heslop 4 - 1:00:03 - Robert Carpenter 5 - 1:01:07 - Ian Cox 6 - 1:01:36 - Patrick Butler 16 - 1:03:46 - Jonathan Reeves 18 - 1:03:55 - Robin Butler 21 - 1:06:01 - John Peters 61 - 1:13:09 - Mark Attenborough 134 - 1:21:25 - Mick James 158 - 1:24:35 - Tim Warren 261 - 1:37:29 - Judy Cohen
Wish I could have raced yesterday? Unfortunately, working.
But well done everybody
Shame about the weather as someone has whinged in their rating that it was a dull route - in the sunshine its gorgeous! unfortunately the weather is the one thing we don't have control over!
TriWill indeed it was a great race for A&D - thanks for the support
JDFI - I would say that the half route is better, but this races is flatter. You will always get someone moaning about something. His real problem is probably that he didn't get a pb.
PSC - well done you. Still have memories of your first ever Thanet RC race.
The George family had a fab time at the santa run yesterday. The course measured short but it it is a charity race and not a club one. I don't think my hubby could have run more than his 2.95 miles anway. He did it in 20:43 which is 7:01 pace. I am very proud of him, he did say he was dizzy at the finish. Andre didn't like the start horn and got upset but we did it in 38:22 which is good. Kierrah finished way before me and Andre, but she didn't have a watch to time herself.
Hope you all had a great race in the lovely Thanet weather.
I'd have never said it was a dull route!
Well done Tracey and family
Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls on the day. They really did keep me going with their words of encouragement. It was my first 10 miler, so I was relieved to make it. I looked a right sight trying to walk to my car afterwards though!
I'm looking forward to finding my next event now. Running is sooooooo addictive!!!!
I don't know what others do, but I generally only take a few quid to a race to cover cups of tea, Mars or whatever. If I do have to have more with me I lock it securely in my car.
The review she wrote was pretty "brutal" and made some pretty damning assumptions. The whole of TRAC is unfriendly because you did not agree to look after her belongings for her? This flies in the face of 99.9% of reviews so don't lose any sleep over it.
Photos of the event are now on imagesaurus.co.uk
