That Rob Downs coasted the win didn't he? Had time for a pint and a fag before the second place came in!

You are right SwissJames...and I was second (but a victory for age over youth).  He is annoyingly fast and annoyingly in my age group too although not for long as I move up in December.  The closest I have ever got to him is maybe 45 seconds over 5k, 90 seconds over 10k.

But I doubt he drinks pints, and I'm sure he doesn't smoke fags.

Enjoyed yesterday and felt good just to run it as a race rather then trying to get a PB which was never going to happen for me on that course.

Haha yes.  I would enjoyed a pint at the finish.  I think that once I was clear I gained some benefit from following the lead bike.

But I wouldn't have kept up with BHB's sprint for 2nd place.

Oh I didn't realise you were both on here!

Great run, both of you.

Thanks for all of the comments, We will take everything on board and improve for next year.

It was a Steep learning curve over a short space of time. I am glad that on the whole people enjoyed the event and with the lessons learnt next year will be an improvement.

Results have  been posted on the life leisure website and are also in Today’s Stockport Express (page 73)

Thanks for taking part
