That Rob Downs coasted the win didn't he? Had time for a pint and a fag before the second place came in!

You are right SwissJames...and I was second (but a victory for age over youth).  He is annoyingly fast and annoyingly in my age group too although not for long as I move up in December.  The closest I have ever got to him is maybe 45 seconds over 5k, 90 seconds over 10k.

But I doubt he drinks pints, and I'm sure he doesn't smoke fags.

Enjoyed yesterday and felt good just to run it as a race rather then trying to get a PB which was never going to happen for me on that course.

Haha yes.  I would enjoyed a pint at the finish.  I think that once I was clear I gained some benefit from following the lead bike.

But I wouldn't have kept up with BHB's sprint for 2nd place.

Oh I didn't realise you were both on here!

Great run, both of you.

Thanks for all of the comments, We will take everything on board and improve for next year.

It was a Steep learning curve over a short space of time. I am glad that on the whole people enjoyed the event and with the lessons learnt next year will be an improvement.

Results have  been posted on the life leisure website and are also in Today’s Stockport Express (page 73)

Had a great time on the run. It's a tough 10k course. New Zealand road at 8k is a killer epsecially after the run down hill over the cobbles in the park.

I finished just outside 1hr which I was pleased with

Where can we find the results?

23/09/2013 at 10:29

I did this event as my first ever 10k (done a number of 5ks in the parkruns at Bramhall) - I stumbled across this blog when searching for how I get results and found it an interesting read.

A little surprised at the negative comments early on in relation to registration - i thought it was breeze, took me two minutes about 3 days before the event (had been plucking up the courage to enter).

Had a target of 57 mins (my 5ks are about 26 mins) but set off too fast (3k in 15 mins) and the glaring sun going up the A6 took its toll on me and I started to struggle around the 6k mark. The reason i was looking for the results is it was borderline whether i got under the hour or not - my watch said 59.58 - the clock on the line was just ticking over the hour mark. Although disappointed with my time, I learnt a few lessons about pacing myself etc. Yes, New Zealand road was a killer, but I was expecting that, what i wasn't expecting was the hill up to the market, i had misread the map and thought all the hills were done - would loved to have seen my face when I came round the corner and saw we had one more hill to go

Overall though I really enjoyed it and the entrance fee was negated by the fact that I had to stay in Saturday night so I could compete without a hangover

Thank you to the organisers

Oh, and the finish line being next to Greggs was inspired

No sorry Ryan, I went to a page where the 2012 results were posted but nothing up for 2013 but I am new to all this and don't really know how long these things take or where else to look. I will try and drop a quick email over to organisers
