It amazes me how quickly the time comes to get the entry in for yet another Liversedge Half.If your training for a spring marathon this is the one for you.Friendly club with a nice start from the common, testing hills but great support at the end.Lovely community centre serving sandwiches and local running shop stall there.Nice awards ceremony.A definatel must half. This is the 5th time for me and my local race.....Interested??

Been thinking of doing this a few years now something always came up. It's usually my birthday weekend. Going to sign up this time. It's local to me and fits in nicely with my ultra training

I watched it a couple of years ago. Can`t remember, is there a kids` playground nearby?

The only posh indoor play area is about a mile off the course in Cleckheaton.Diddy middies by Spen baths.I think your thinking of the nursery, cake.Anyway the community centre sound for cakes sarnies etc.

How competitive is this one?

It's only my 2nd half marathon leading up to London Marathon and likely to be doing 2:15 but don't want to be home after the bunting has been taken down!

Hi Guys,

The race is filling up nicely now. Looks as though we are going to have to put the Race Full signs out again.

looking forward to it again also in training for spen 20 on 11th march hope to beat 2h30 and not have kids try to put runners of at the bottom of the hill of mile 19 which happened this year

David, not a problem, and will get in touch with your company.

Looks like a good one!, I might try & make it my first 'half' since mid 2009, but it appears that I'll have to be quick, but I'll have to consult the 'Fell Runners Association' calendar first to see what's happening there

Okay, that's still my only one  (on the road anyway)

Regarding the beck at Brighouse, I can't remember, is there a bridge there

Ahh, yes there is - see 2nd entry.... (plus my own comments about Bingley & 'Beckfoot', just above it

Edit @ 17:46

Oh good!!, there's nothing that local on that weekend (so far), & the 'Ilkley Moor Fell-Race' is a fortnight later

15 west normally first week in Jan the race is full.

Im running the Brass Monkey in Jan,then LHM followed by the Blackpool half a fortnight later then the Blackpool marathon on the same day as the Spen 20.Big decision to run Blackpool rather than Spen but hope to do at least 3 marathons in 2012.Also looking at Sunderland marathon in May and Liverpool in october.

Is the Freckleton half worth running in June I believe this half is a pb potential?Any thoughts?

13/11/2011 at 18:33
Freckleton I found boring one bit for 2 miles is just a long straight road
