Hey Girls - don't be alarmed by 'fastest 10k around'. It just means that there are no hills, so, in other words it's the 'easiest 10k around'! Don't worry. You'll all be fine . . .
Hey thanks! I've been losing sleep worrying expecting to see all olympian type runners at the start line lol!
The Kenyans only turn up when there is prize money, there was one at Cabbage Patch, so you should be OK....
Hi everyone, Has anyone got their packs yet? I haven't heard anything from the organisers...
Do we get packs!? I would have thought we just get running chips n' our race numbers on the day. Thanks 007 for the reassurance!!
Oh OK thanks, I think all races I have done so far have sent me a pack before so I thought it was standard! Thanks
For those worrying about their time, just remember even if you are last you've still beaten every other b*gger who didn't bother to get out of bed that morning
Am liking the look of this one....
That's what I always say Helenjane, you're right!
Not had a pack or anything yet but I did only sign up last week. Glad to hear it's flat, more chance of a PB
Just read the instructions on the email - "no headphones or music" OMG - I need my music!! See you all there
OMG does it really say that! I can run short distances without music, but an hour without any thing will be difficult. Maybe I can use them discretely...
I will be wearing my gloves and am going to hide my nano in them as it's so small and put the headphones on after race has started - will pass the headphones through my top and hide in my shock absorber strap (nice!) - there sorted!
Really, no headphones?!! I've just downloaded some itunes I was hoping to listen to!
:-/ ohhh! kill joys!!! lol
Whether or not you agree with the no headphones issue, rules is rules. TBH I did a no headphones half last month and was surprised how easy it was ( the lack of music, not the 13.1 hilly miles!) Made for a much more sociable experience, and it does make you more aware of your breathing and surroundings. Don't be scared to run naked
I did a H/M last month too with no head phones! I just fancied listening to some tunes on Sunday, I can run with or without
Good luck everyone!!!! Enjoy
I did this last year for the first time. It is a pleasant run and not too challenging with a scenic bit along the river, although a bit of a bun fight to get out of the park first, along the road.
I used my headphones last year and they are not strict about it. They wont tell you to take them off but are simply concerned about safety. Just enjoy the experience. I havent run for 2 weeks but am going along for the fun! See you there
