One of my local parkruns call themselves the 'flashers' (they run at Pennington Flash just South of Wigan) so are probably the closest to naked parkrunners...

If you want to see how many parkrunners use GPS, look up Preston parkrun on facebook- their cover photo shows the start of the first event and all you can see is people switching on their garmins

And worrying that the run will start before they have a signal.

lots of people at our local one use them, especially the serious chaps and chap-esses

i volunteered at last week's parkrun handing out the number tags to finishers. about half the runners wore them, and they were fairly evenly distributed across the finish times. it's just another toy, and nobody really cares what anyone else is wearing. (FWIW, I have one and i wear it when i'm running parkruns)

Ok guys, Ive decided Im going to wear my garmin watch. Do you think the organisers would mind if I brought my own pacer as well, he has got his own 'PACE' bib and he'll drop off after 2.5km and I'll finish off from there. His name is 'Obyembi' and he comes from Kenya.
