Tough Guy in a wetsuit?

Is running the Tough Guy in a wetsuit a good way to stay warm or a duff idea?

Nice bit of vibrating flesh.

Now pop some clothes on and make us a cup of tea.

back to the original question, i have done winter and summer tg on several occasions and no way would i do it in a wet suit . this might sound crazy but minimum clothing is best. In my opinion

Was really looking forward to catching up with this thread and you have all gone silent!

Does this mean I will never know?

Sorry - what WAS the question ?

Is it a good idea to ware a wet suite for Tough Guy?

Does Billy Wilson live up to his description?

Is Melody the greatest Troll?

Is Ferocitas really a “love”?

What does she actually have against Trolls?

Does she need to get over herself?

Is Ironman and tough guy all the same thing?

All this was only page one.

This could have been the most informative thread of all time but alas we are left with more questions than answers.

The short answer was "it's a duff idea".

But that would have made for a far less entertaining thread

I would suggest you never wear a wet suite,

I've done Tough Guy a few times and I'm in charge of the 130 Loughborough Students taking part this year. I have seen a few people do it in shortie wetsuits but not many. My 2 pence worth for kit is make sure you have good shoes and I've always covered my knees and elbow with skins so that you don't get horrid cuts that can get horribly infected.

As for Billy Wilson... I know Billy reasonably well and he certainly is eccentric, we interviewed him just before Christmas and you can view it here at our team website http://toughguy.lsrag.co.uk/. He doesn't change when he's off camera either, it's pretty genuine.

Good luck to everyone for Sunday and look out for the sea of pink that is Loughborough.

Hello again. 427 posts later after starting this thread.... I did Tough Guy, it was a doddle compared to wading through this lot.. For the record, it was a flippin FREEZING day, and I am glad to report that you lot who thought a wet-suit would be a duff idea were badly mistaken. I wore one (ok, I know that misses the point, but I am not very tough, more like a delicate spring flower than Spartacus), it was lovely and toasty warm and I felt pretty smug after all the enforced head-freezes that I didn't have hypothermia.

So if you got it, wear it.

THE END

Well done on finishing. I was fine without a wetsuit when I did it - but I was well up the field and didnt have to do much waiting around. Some of the queues behind were a bit bad.
