Fantastic - lovely scenery to run through, and one big hill - once you've knocked it on the head it's not too far to go.

Just entered, as I'm preparing for the Barcelona Marathon (21/3).

Cheers.

I'm trying out the Crowborough 10k this weekend - similar terrain I expect?

less than a mile from the station so quite close

I've done a couple of 10ks in less than an hour, and my plan is to finish a marathon before my 40th in June.

Is this a good race to do my first half marathon?

Andy, Go for it!

My recollection of this one from last year was that there seemed to be a lot of downhill in the early stages so I was anticipating some major hills in the latter stages which just didn't materialise.

Could be of course that I'm blocking out painful memories - but I honestly can't remember this one as being a toughy. It was my 4th half and I got a pb regardless.

You're ready Andy! - what's a run without a hill or two anyway?!? I haven't run this one but it sounds a bit like Hastings - you have to give it some respect but it is nonetheless a rewarding course and can be fast.

Scotty: did you do Crowborough - I recall on another thread you said you would. I did it for the first time - now there's a hill to make you throw up!!! (if you were to run it, that is, which I didn't . . . )

Hiya SlowButFar,

Yes I did Crowborough and am pleased to say that, unlike last year, I 'ran' up the "hill" on both laps, although I wasn't making much headway on the walkers. Almost said hello to my breakfast at one point - gut wrenching!

:-)

I've put it in the diary for next year, with a note: "run the hill (both laps) this time!".

one hill of note through fordingbridge, its at the end of all that lovely downhill, but virtually flat after that.mind the bus stops in the last mile. They are all plastic and without my glasses I ran almost straight into one on the last mile. it hurt!

I have entered this one again this year.

There is a really nasty hill, It was my first half marathon ever last year and did it in 2:06, very disappointed.

Very challenging course, but very rewarding would recommend it to anyone.

Hurray - just signed up for this one too!

My first time at TW and my only previous half is the rather lovely Windsor half so I think I'll be in for a bit of a shock with this one! Happy Training everyone!

So Dover or Tunbridge that's the question. Decision which has the most and steepest hills, not sure why but I'm opting for the toughest challenge... any suggestions?

Hi Ashley, I have never done Dover, butt he hills at Tunbridge are a killer if I remember right.

Sounding good already.
