PB Cov HM!

National XC Relays, Mansfield, this Saturday AND/OR Centurion 5M this Sunday. What do you think?

27/10/2009 at 09:35

yeti - did i see you running up cartland rd this morning - about 7.20???

WELL DONE ON A NEW PB R--K

I will be doing next month's 5 mile r-k, along with half our club as it is in the grand prix, i think i will just do a normal  long run on sunday as i did not feel well last week and could not do one

27/10/2009 at 10:03

RK, well done. Set mine too at Amsterdam last weekend

Just ran my first xc league race on Sat, somehow I dont think I am going to make much of a dent in the league table, came in around 500th out of 600, hahaha.............

Not remotely bias of course but the Centurion one, free raffle afterwards for anyone who ran.

There aint much going on in the West Mids, race wise which is quite annoying, races I am considering are (I know they aren' t in West Mids but hey ho...)

15/11 - Heanor Xmas pud 10k

29/11 - Clowne Half Marathon

Was considering Shepshed 7 on Sunday and Rugby 10 on 8/11 but after training for GNR, Brum Half & Cov Half I'm gonna abuse my body for 2 weekends and hit the booze!!

Anyone got any that aren't on RW events list?

27/10/2009 at 18:14

yeah - the centurian 5 mile series as mentioned above

and the xmas yacht handicap races at BvH and sparkhill - but those are for fun rather than pb's - in december

27/10/2009 at 18:18

Thanks, all. Well done you too Chris.

I'm thinking (as I've intended all along, really) of doing the 5-miler, and possibly the whole series, but I know there'll be pressure to join the club outing to Mansfield.

The next B'ham XC league meeting's the day before race #2.

Thanks guys, I did see them but I really want to keep my mileage up over the Winter in prep for a Half Marathon I am doing in Ireland in December.  Not much to choose from - unless I fancy a 100 mile + trip!

I think this will be my next one.

Hi Spence, recovered from last night's session? The air seemed to be turning a bit blue in your vicinity!

I did that last year and enjoyed it. There's even this review 'wot I rote'.

There is a bit of a hill, but it's all good.

28/10/2009 at 08:50
hahaha RK, sorry about the language!! Did find it a toughie, but good  I guess I need to embrace 'hills' if I'm doing Windy!!
28/10/2009 at 10:36

Spence,

embracing hills is good for your all round running not just hilly courses. BTW, I thought you looked really strong last night. In case your not aware, I was your partner

Oh!! lol thank you!

Not sure if the Rugby '10' has been advertised on here - November 8th

I think the course has been changed this year so its 15K rather than 10 miles. I'm quite disappointed as I wanted to see if I could get my 10 mile pb down.

P.S. It's the last race in the 2009 Warwickshire Road Race League

To nick R-K's words, and links....

"I [too] did that last year and enjoyed it. There's even this review 'wot I rote' [somewhere in there]."

Think it'll be my next race now as I'm getting no response from the organisers of the Boxing Day XC I wanted to do.  Won't be running again in time for Rugby
