R-K - might have been up for it but will be in Newcastle gearing up for GNR... good luck with it though

I should have waited to get prime top-of-the-page advertising space, shouldn't I? Never mind.

Good luck yourself Yeti! It falls a week after the Robin Hood mara and a week before a family wedding for me. Oh, and a 7-miler the day after the wedding!

It occurs to me that there may be several hostelries along the route still open for business... beats water stations

There are loads of pics of runners doing the last rowheath, if you let me have your number from the race I can send them on. One of our club members took them all.

Nobody seems to have mentioned Centurion's GP 5M series, Nov 09 to Apr 10...

RK. An excellent race, but I might be bias...
05/09/2009 at 17:06
hmmm i might do some of those

I have a 5 mile PB to beat now! There were quite a few Centurions at Cov last night. Didn't spot any Bournville Harriers. Quite a nice race, and the rain just about held off. Don't understand why they had to lock the pavilion changing rooms just before the race though.

I'm thinking about doing a few of the Centurions GP races. The Jan 3rd one might be a bit awkward, mind.

Lurker, RK. If you enter the lot it should work out quite cheap for you. Hopefully I should make the Nuneaton 10mile next Sunday, see you there maybe ?
06/09/2009 at 16:49

Prior engagement, Chris - Robin Hood mara. Nuneaton was on my original list of 'possibles' for that date, along with two maras and two 10kms!

I'm hoping to do a couple of 10 milers later in the year - the Rugby & N'hampton one at Draycote Water (if I ever find any details for it) and Thirsk (oop north), both in November.

Good luck though. I've heard it's quite nice. May turn up at the Midland Road Relays the following Saturday, though I may or may not take part as a) I'll still be recovering and b) I'm marshalling the Acorns Midnight Walk that night.

BTW - anyone know anything about the Shakespeare Raceway 10k, 21 Nov? There's an event page on RW, but the event website quoted there, raceways.eu, doesn't exist!

ahh glad you asked that RK, was thinking the same!? I need to look at last years results before I enter, it's okish to be last at the club but not at a race!! lol

Hi Spence,

I've emailed catherine@raceway.eu, although if the www.raceway.eu site doesn't exist, her email address may not either!

As for coming last, a) it's very unlikely and b) so what if you do? There's no stigma!

Did you miss CoacH on Friday?

06/09/2009 at 17:55

I did although his wife tells me it's gonna get tougher, obviously no more Mr Nice Guy!!

06/09/2009 at 18:02

lol I suppose training's got to be tough, else there's not much point!

I may not be there on Tuesday, and if I am I probably won't do the full session, as I'm taking it easy now in the run up to next Sunday's mara. I'm looking forward to running 'normal' distances again!

The thing is the warm up/down is faster than I would go!!
06/09/2009 at 18:12
R-K well reminded - i kept looking at my calender wondering what race it was i was doing on the 19th since i don't remember entering any
06/09/2009 at 18:14

R-K (again) mark did it last year
it looked absolutely vile
10k run on a runway so completely flat and therefore some fast times were run

i will see if i can find the link on our club site

06/09/2009 at 18:20

hmm - it was in march this year so it may not be the same race
but i seem to remember the organiser was called catherine

06/09/2009 at 18:20
no link
06/09/2009 at 18:55

Never mind - thanks Lurker. If I get any response I'll let you all know.

If it's any help Spence, the slowest finisher in the March 10k there was 81:52 - now I'm sure you can beat that!
