Can I say all women are wonderful and I love their moaning. Makes me a happy man.
|
 |
No you cant say that - it is plainly a fiction you have created for the purposes of posting on the internet. I'm off to complain. And Anyone is gay.
|
 |
RM, you are right. Periods are just an invention designed to let women eat lots of chocolate and icecream and moan about men.
I thought that was pregnancy and childbirth ...

Does the BBC feel the need to get these stories out before the Sun or Dailymail get a bandwagon rolling amongst the Mary Whitehouse falangists? BBC is going to be under pressure from Darth Murdoch when Cameron ascends to the throne. BBC may not want to leave too much ammunition lying around.

This is just another case of our wonderful media trying to direct the way of the nation - as bdb said at the start of this thread it was only 50 people and they are probably royalists who would complain about any slight on the royal family but the papers have picked it up and so create a scandal, we've got to take back the power we have given to our media and not let them drive this sort of nonsense, WHO CARES about the minority having a moan, It is not headline news, we have far more important things on this earth like climate change, the war in afganistan, the economy but still column inches are given to this trite guff! I am bored of hearing about Katie Price AND peter Andre, bored of Cheryl Cole, Bored of "sachsgate" and bored of hearing about how shite this country is. It isn't that bad, the majority of us are all still great folk who live happy, decent, hardworking lives and yet as a nation we are sucked in by this bollox It really grinds my gears!! Now i would say that that wasn't a moan - more of a rant

 Sucking whose bollocks?

reckon bbc could focus on important stuff and not the royals or silly celebs tbh. Dont playdown any racism though. bankerism i could live with that

I always thought the word Kraut was meant to be offensive, I've never heard it used in a endearing way. So the comparison between the words Frenchman and Kraut is wrong, Kraut and Frog is the correct comparison, and once again it used as a term of affection generally is it? So potentially these words are no different to paki or gook as far as I can see.

"A BBC spokesman said ... The joke Miranda delivered was about abusive racist language following on from the news story that Prince Philip had made what were considered offensive remarks at a meeting of Indian representatives." So those complaining obviously didn't get the joke.

Calling somebody Greek is a description, not a racist epithet. The key distinction in the tiny right-on minds of these alternative comics is that French/Greek/German people are white, therefore fair game. Pakistanis, Afghans, Iraqis etc are not white therefore any reference to them is racist. Double standards? You decide. I used to work with a German guy called Michael Kaut. he used to introduce himself with the words, "Hi I'm Michael Kaut, you can call me Kaut the Kraut"

ackshully the mut is right. I remember now

Comedians can't say anything now.....I'm NOT supportive of, or would condone racism in any shape or form, but as Muttley and others have said, the whole fecking point of her saying that about Liz & Phil was ironic because of what that bloody racist said at the dinner in the first place!!!!! The Beeb is so scared of upsetting anyone about anything, the slightest complaint causes headline news, it is pathetic. As for folk complaining about seeing naked folks having s*x, and that (shock horror) kids might see it.......GET A FECKING LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rant over

The people who complained obviously don't have the intelligence to get irony. It's a pure knee jerk reaction with no brain engagement whatsoever. Hence the complaints. This leads to the ultimate dumbing down of television and the media in general. It's only possible to make a "racist" comment if you are a member of that race/colour/creed. Maybe the presenter should go back in her family tree and find a trace of Greek/German and then they'll be exonerated.
